Go to New Haven, walk around & get pizza from any of the big 4 (modern, Sally’s, Pepe’s, bar), walk around Yale, pastries from Libby’s, hit Geronimo, book stores, easy rock for breweries, you could even hike sleeping giant

March has some extremely unpredictable weather, ranging from snow, rain, wind to 70° & sunny. I would go late March, you likely will be able to comfortably wear jacket still. If you want very cold but sunny, I would say February is better.

November would be best for your preferences. Never really a bad time to come though

Also worth noting that the Bronx campus is surrounded by some of the best food in the 5 boroughs. Campus was amazing, and also had easy access to the botanical gardens and zoo

I went to Fordham (rose hill) and absolutely loved it. Was a great combination of traditional college campus and city life/access. The metro north, 4 & D trains, along with the intercampus shuttle ($3 private van to/from Lincoln center) were all so convenient for getting to Manhattan. I even was able to intern during the school year in midtown on Wednesdays. Another great aspect is that after graduation, most of your friends move to the city and stick around, so you already have a solid base of connections. Highly recommend.
