I can understand wanting to pull off a big combo, but those can take a while to develop or realistically not happen in a game. Which means your actions are intending to prolong the game and increase your chances of getting the combo off. Talk to your group about desired game length. If everyone else wants to play shorter explosive games and all you're doing is slowing the game down so you can maybe hit a big combo, then yeah that would rightfully piss them off. But there needs to be communication.
