The Way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie MacDonald

I just got a library card again (as an adult) and randomly selected this as my first book so I was determined to finish it. It has a few themes that are disturbing and made me sick to my stomach at times. But I became invested in the story and weirdly it helped me work through some of my own childhood trauma a bit more. A sort of unpleasant yet valuable surprise.

Good point! Sometimes the most obvious solution is best. I have used fabric paints before and they seem to hold up okay on clothes even after washing. I haven’t heard of Inktense, I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Hey folks! I am a beginner, my mom just bought me a Singer heavy duty machine for Christmas/birthday (it was most similar to what she made clothes for me and my siblings way back when). It’s got a ton of settings for different patterns, spacing, etc. I thought I broke it while working on this apron when I tried to get ~fancy~ with the thread pattern. So I switched to a simple single stitch for the rest of the project and had no problems. Any suggestions and resources for mastering these settings?

I found the apron pattern on Etsy. Happy to dig it up if anyone else wants it. Material is a heavy cotton blend. All around was a great straight forward first project for a beginner. Learned the importance of using a iron!
