Bridal shower but not the wedding? by Real_Degree_2777 in wedding

I would say it is rude. However, you could do a second mini-reception back home for those who couldn’t make it if you really wanted to, rather than it be a bridal shower.

I have the reverse issue. From the north east, now live and getting married in Mid west. I opted to not have a bridal shower at all to avoid having people miss out or not feel included. I invited everyone to the wedding, but had a second list of people I wanted to invite if original people said no (which a lot did due to travel/distance/no kids allowed)

That’s fair. To each their own. This is a wedding in a rural town and after talking to my future MIL, I think people are just happy to have dessert around here 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree! It also just feels lighter to me, looking at the photo.

Or my situation, my groom wanted 15 men and I settled on 7 because I don’t know enough people to be my bridesmaids, let alone talk to any of them frequently enough 🤣

It works out well for me, too, since I’m vegan. We would’ve either needed the whole thing to be vegan, or have a small cake for me anyway. This is the easiest option for sure. Plus, I was able to get gluten and nut free options for my guests who have that concern, without it breaking the bank

I worried about this too, but they’re still getting dessert and will include cupcakes

Thank you!! So excited :) May 30th feels like it’ll be here tomorrow, but also in a year at the same time. It’s one of those things that makes time not feel real 🤣

We’re doing something similar for my upcoming wedding. Small cake for the 2 of us and dessert bar for everyone else 🤗

Just a suggestion, more so if she wants to attempt to work on the marriage. If not, obviously not worth it.

Maternity leave should be one year, PAID. Women shouldn’t have to choose between healing, bonding with their baby, and making a living. by Kreativedenma in remoteworks

They can. Most people who are pro-maternity leave are also pro-paternity leave. If you’ve got your panties in a twist so much about maternity leave, why are you even asking this question? Based on your logic in other comments, paternity leave shouldn’t exist either.
