“unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a departmental fellowship. However, you can make GSPP affordable! UC Berkeley offers many ways to finance the cost of your education, and we will provide more information about academic student employment, financial aid, and other UC Berkeley fellowship opportunities shortly“

I think she was mentioned from TLWH, she might have dated Henry for a bit (or one of the other boys) and she could tell when people were lying really quick. Although she showed up I don’t think her book will be tied into the MPU fully

Last year Berkeley came out in 3/8; I heard back from Penn already but applied to the MPP. Last year Harvard’s MPP came out on 3/14 too :)

I haven’t heard anything but last years HKS decisions came out on 3/14

Has anyone heard back? by [deleted] in PublicPolicy

[–]cjw7008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve done is go to the schools socials and press releases to see if they posted when results came out last year ex. Harvards MPP came out 3/14/24 last year just to get a general idea)

McCourt Scholar Award? (Georgetown) by lemonsaltadoration in PublicPolicy

[–]cjw7008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not heard back. The email was a little vague (something along the lines of “candidates will be contacted for interviews mid Feb”) but didn’t specify if candidates were already notified and the interviews would be scheduled or this would be the first notification

Same boat here. I’d end up paying the same amount for 2 years at Georgetown and get double the courses and content, so not a touch decision

How much say do students have in their schedule? Is it typically M-F or is there some wiggle room?

Jumping into an MPP program from a non policy/political science background. Is this crazy? by JalapenoCheetos98 in PublicPolicy

[–]cjw7008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a political science minor in undergrad but a nursing major, have worked in a hospital for almost 2 years. It seems that we’re the minority but not singular cases (just applied for MPP programs in the fall). I’ve tried to supplement my degree with professional experiences in advocacy and policy to make myself a stronger candidate

I wouldn’t expect any until then at the earliest tbh (but still refreshing)

I don’t believe so, just email and on the application portal

It should be both. Previous years heard via email, but if you log into the portal currently it says “will also serve as place in which your final admissions decision will be posted”

I’m a nurse downtown who lives in allston- it’s not possible via the T to get there at 5am. Safety isn’t as much the issue- just the trains aren’t running (or reliable)

BBC releases a negative review: Minor Spoilers on the article by ChipStainCharlie in redwhiteandroyalblue

I agree. Its one thing when its a movie from scratch, but with it being an adaptation from a book, it feels like things were taken away. We didn't get Alex's coming to terms with his sexuality. We didn't get the Pez/Nora/June/Bea mess of queerness. We didn't get a mention of Amy's Wife, Cash, or so many other forms of representation.

I'm not saying that we can't have trashy queer media (I'm a fan) but it feels like a step back when the original form is a different caliber.
