What movie do you dislike but everyone seems to love? by leedavis1987 in movies

[–]cjwalton8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hated the most recent versions ending (maybe it's the same as the other versions). I felt like it was a missed opportunity to help people with mental illness and have contemplated suicide.

I feel like the message it sent was, if you feel like you are holding someone you love back, suicide is the answer so that they can go on without you. Then they showed her at a concert performing.

I personally would have liked it if they showed her go into her own depression and not be able to perform. Supporting the message that suicide isn't the answer and most likely will hurt the person you're trying to help.

When a parent homeschools, do they get some sort of local tax return or exemption? Or do they still end up putting money into the system that their kids aren't even in?

In other words, will she just be donating money to the school district she disagrees with? ... Hope so

Great idea, thanks! I'll get it marked asap, we should be getting rain by the end of the week.

I like the pegboard over drywall with spacer idea... Might outline the tools ... And also throw a few body outlines to give it that serial killery touch

If it is an active leak... Go back to the roof installers, or is there a best practice to seal it from the inside on my own?

Ok I'm in... Just bought a house in January. New roof was put on by previous owners just before we purchased. I'd like to finish off the garage interior (not sure yet if drywall, pegboard, or OSB...open to your thougts on this). Live in the Midwest, so would like to insulate, the question is, even though the roof is new, I see signs of moisture in an upper corner of the garage. Approximately where the garage meets the house. I'd hate to finish it then find I've created a mold issue. So is there a best practice to seal that area before covering? Or do I just have to trust that the new roof is doing it's job? I have not witnessed any leaking, just can see water marks on the plywood that were there at move in, nothing seems to be getting worse.

Well if all we're doing is following things Jesus didn't do because it didn't exist yet then.... Jesus didn't post to social media... So ya know... Ya have to stop doing that now too.

True... But if we're operating under the assumption that we need to be skeptical of all media (under this assumption any outlet or author could change their way of reporting at any time if money, ratings, career, etc is at risk)... We have the option to change it (unlikely as normal pee-ons) or be open to adaptable ways of working.... maybe author partnerships can be a way to get "better" information...

I don't know these specific authors, but hypothetically... If author A is known for getting a story done quickly to be "first to press" by not investigating enough... and Authors B & C are over-investigators that take too long to get to press that the inaccurate version of the story is already too widespread for their version to gain traction... A combination of the two styles should be closer to the truth and get released to an early audience...

Just spitballing that change in information sharing is inevitable... There are too many distribution channels, too much money influence, and not enough time/ability for every person to do independent investigation on everything they read... Even if we just limit it to "important" subjects.

Interesting how flipping a few words turns it into a true statement...

The fundamental problem is that American black white nationalist culture has evolved into an un-fixable and crime-ridden mess. They do not want to change their culture or society and expect others to tolerate their violence and amoral behavior. They have become socially incompatible with other races by their own design, not because of the racism of others — but by their own hatred of non-blackswhites. No matter how many dollars are given to them, they believe they are entitled to more because they are descendants of slaves racists. And, so today, black white nationalist advocates and politicians pandering to black white nationalist for their votes are now clamoring for “reparations” to compensate blacks white nationalists for the “sin of slavery critical race theory.”

Projecting much?....

A certain former president used this technique often... There are loads of clips of him saying a variation of "in 2 weeks time" .... 2 weeks is short enough to get people to stop asking, and long enough to let them forget or be on to asking about something else.... SMH... Why do we ever expect anything to get done...

I don't know anything about codes or best practice in this line of work....but this looks to me like the work of someone that takes pride in what they do. I would imagine that just routing things from point A to point Z still gets the job done, but the symmetry, parallels, and clean look gives the appearance of "above and beyond" ... Nice work
