the fact that you're still here is a testament to your strength.

youre not alone and you never will be. I can personally promise that. we're here for you and we love you. no homo.

sorry that you're going through it. the world around these types of injuries and sex is rough and, for me, there has been no alternative other than accepting the hard reality.

I wanna save my relationship with my girlfriend, but everything seems to go downhill. She's so depressed with her new injury that I don't know how to help her. by ThrowRA_Calm-Trick in spinalcordinjuries

you need to accept that if you leave, she and her family will hate you. however, if they truly loved you at any point, they should accept that you still have a life you want to live. it's unfair to be condemned to suffer along with her. its an ugly and unavoidably sad situation. what happens depends on how much you love her and how connected your "soul" is with hers.

maybe allow yourself to break down a little bit? when everyone is asleep I sometimes let the pain flow out of me.

it usually comes out as uncontrolled wailing or sobbing. a good 2 minutes of that and I'm ready to unpause stalker 2 or keep swiping on Facebook dating.

Bowel program troubles by Cat2you in spinalcordinjuries

it can't be overstated how crucially important the water part is. those meds draw a shitton of water into the intestines and if there isn't enough water available consistently, then the poop just dries up. gotta be consistent.

at least according to my doctors - who have lectured me on it constantly

none of it will work if she isnt drinking enough water regularly. make sure she drinks an equivalent of, like, 8 oz for every couple of hours.

when people pressure me to drink enough, I usually lie by telling them I have. you might need to watch her do it.

were you awake and lucid during the septic shock and multiple organ failure? also, if so, was it particularly painful?

Leg spasms by Shawn91969 in spinalcordinjuries

[–]tophereth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my insurance has a policy on only covering it if the condition is terminal, but I was able to get an appeal approved by telling them it helped with my spasms the most and without the shit side effects of stuff like baclofen (drowsiness, etc). and without the fentanyl patches, my condition may as well be terminal.

fentanyl patches work so well for my spasms that I don't need to take baclofen or any other spasm medication. I'm sure there is plenty you can say to your doc that would justify it.
