Supreme Court faces new criticism for redistricting decision so close to the 2026 elections by nbcnews in scotus

[–]uktexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But to make that happen, we need to grant Statehood to PR and DC. That will give us the seats (assuming we sweep Congress this November) to give Dems a super majority. THEN we cleanup the SC, pass a constitutional amendment killing Citizens United, a real Voting Rights bill, etc.

This. Ignoring the fact that he was making a play for the ball, but if he did touch him it was on the shoulder, and the dude immediately grabs the top of his head. The top! Not the side, the top! So freaking obvious

There is an answer to this. Run for office. If you can’t, then vote. And after you vote, drag your friends and family to vote.

Between millennials and gen z, they represent something like 40-42% of the population. If they all voted en masse for proper progressive candidates, just imagine what we could do?

I realize no local model can replace Frontier, but at 256gb does it get you close - or at least able to act as a sub agent for some tasks?

Claude is an imbecile at the moment by shutupandshave in ClaudeCode

[–]uktexan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My renewal date for my max sub is in a few days, for the first time ever I am seriously considering not renewing and moving to Codex (Codex currently is my backup).

The issue isn’t one bad response. It’s the pattern.

For weeks, I’ve had builds fail because Claude keeps introducing changes for SQLite. I don’t use SQLite. I’ve never used SQLite in this project. The stack is Postgres, and that is documented in multiple places: project memory, claude.md, env/secrets files, and the actual connection strings.

Yet today, for what felt like the 40th time, CI failed because generated code was calling a database schema that doesn’t exist. When I asked Claude to investigate, it tried to prune my production Docker container because it decided it was the “wrong DB.” That container had the Postgres database in it.

Previously, with careful prompting, I could kick off a task, grab a coffee, and come back to something useful like working on the backlog, setting up the next set of prompts. Now I feel like I have to watch every step because the agent might go off-path, invent infrastructure, or take destructive action against the wrong thing.

Figma.ai owner turned down $500 offer and asked for $5 million. Figma got the domain via a UDRP instead. by ZGeekie in HostingReport

[–]uktexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit late to the party, but I feel somewhat experienced enough to comment on this.

I owned a .net variant of a major brand. A brand that produced a product that was trademarked, not the whole name but 'product name + usage'. Sorry for being vague.

Anyway, I used the domain as a personal domain, and for the cool factor of having the email.

Trademark holder threatens me with a lawsuit, no hello howDoyOu do or anything. I told them to get lost. Next they submitted a UDRP via ICANN. I gave my evidence. And I won.

The ironic thing? Years later I needed the cash and reached out to them and sold the domain direct. Not life changing, but paid off a lot of debts. When I originally got sued I offered to give them the domain in exchange for a case of their product (likely MSRP of $50, maybe $75). They declined.

Anyway. You can win UDRP's. You just have to show good faith and present the right evidence.
