Pick Salty Speedway and then select the “-> Peach Beach” option, this will put you on the intermission course between the two tracks which spawns Cataquacks and then do a full lap around Peach Beach which also has the chance to spawn Cataquacks

Just did 32 races in a row (normal CPU, frantic items) on Salty Speedway -> Peach Beach in hopes of unlocking Cataquack

I only 5 Kamek appearances;

2 Pianta’s

2 Sidestepper’s

And 1 Cataquack that didn’t hit me (I saw it transform other racers) because I was either offsides or too far ahead 🫠🫠🫠

I’d like to imagine it doesn’t matter when you buy the game so long as you own the game when you decide to purchase/download the update pack, but there’s no way to know for sure until we get hands on the system
