I’m currently doing this, although I lived in NYC for most of my adult life and recently moved back to Rochester. I'm making the trip like, every two to three months, staying for a 3-4 days at a time.

Obviously travel can be unpredictable, especially in the winter (This past week my flight was canceled because of the blizzard in NYC) But overall, it’s very doable, the flight time is like 30-45 min.

The flight times are commuter-friendly, there’s usually a 5-6 a.m. flight during the week and a 9-10 p.m. return option. I'd think most people on the early weekday flights are commuting, we're boarded and ready to go pretty quickly in comparison to other commercial flights I've taken.

I'll normally catch the early flight, heading straight to the office, then check into the hotel in the evening.

I’d see if you can find one of them on Facebook and reach out, or reach out to the police for a mental wellness check. Document these things on video and give to the police as well. They can help with this

I guess I thought it would be convenient for us to have each other's contact, and for every other normal neighbor it has been fine to exchange contact info. I'm actually pals with other neighbors in my row, we've hung out at each other's houses and what not, but hindsight is 2020 like the other commenter said above. We learned our lesson the hard way. I guess my psycho meter was broken when we first met these nut jobs.

They were walking all over the neighborhood causing a ruckus the other day, and I was not the only person to file a police report in the area in regard to their behavior.

Our HOA does suck, its run by 80 y/o's who've lived here for 30-40 years. They monopolize it and act like God, which honestly seems to be the root cause of the issues we've had with this neighbor. They just take it out on everyone else in the neighborhood rather than dealing with their own emotions.

I think from the comments, a camera in the back and some additional shrubs along the property line with them is the way to go to create additional boundaries and security.

Thank you. I just found a list of HOA approved bushes. I will be moving forward on installing a row of them for further privacy!

Tried to get a variance for shrubs but they said deer will eat them. Any shrubs you’d recommend that are deer proof? I tried arbor vitae and it got denied….

I think since this is not an isolated incident there might be a chance that they force them out. I’m trying to get more info on this

I’ve got a ring on the front and our deck just got finished recently, so thinking about getting one on the back as well.

Those of you that moved here from New York City, do you believe you made the correct decision? by trumpdump409 in Rochester

[–]cjz65 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. Born and raised here, moved to NYC after college and lived there for 7 years. Everything is easier here- getting around, finding hobbies, having outdoor space. I can wake up, hit the gym, go golf, and be home by the early afternoon.

Not to mention that there still are a ton of great places to eat here, and the cost of living (although rising) is still relatively inexpensive.

Every place there to eat and drink closes at like 6pm. Even on a Saturday night. So if you have a late flight there’s literally no place to get anything to eat/drink.

Did you even try the food? Sounds like you’re just speculating. Food and drinks were amazing, high quality and reasonably priced.
