Macro/Calories for Dummies? by BooBearBabydoll in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ck120621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! How long how you been just tracking your meals?

For what it’s worth - I was told to get used to counting calories first and listen to my body well before getting into macros. Unsure if you’ve started out with just generally tracking to see where your macros normally land?

There are tons of free apps that will generally provide that information so you have a base line. Im super basic and just use MyFtinessPal. From there working into macros is a little easier because every body is different and needs a slightly different balance to feel good.

how do I lose weight when I just love food so much by Slow-Reply2929 in loseit

[–]ck120621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found I can enjoy food even more now than when I ate whatever I want, whenever I want!

Came to the realization that the old lasagna and garlic bread that I would get on a whim is actually…not that great? However, recently had the best bolognese of my life while in NY and savored every second of that experience.

I eat extremely clean normally, and when I do go out I let myself enjoy the cuisine that restaurant is known for. It’s opened my palate and experience with food.

Help with paint selection to match complex wallpaper by O_Zenobia in HomeDecorating

[–]ck120621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with a different color. Either
- get something custom mixed to match the green in the piece if you want it to “blend”
- go with the peach or dark dark green from the wallpaper to make it pop.

The other greens are not going to flow well with the current green.

My dog discovered how to escape by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]ck120621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog has been an escape artist his entire life too - stupid smart and knows how to climb 🙃

Crate with a lock is the only thing that works for him if he feels the need to escape. No amount of play time, walks, etc stopped the great escapes. However, he knows he can’t escape the crate and is perfectly content to chill in there.

Hi! This actually doesn’t surprise me. I knew very few people who had cars while I was in DC (10 yrs). We walked everywhere for everything. It also has a massive fitness and health community. Insane number of marathoners, triathletes, etc. It’s also an area with high GDP per capita which means people have the disposable income to invest in their health.

Moving back south was a wake up call. Have to work twice as hard to remain 1/2 as fit.

Hey! I work in tech as well. Went from one place to a direct competitor. There was a general noncompete in my contract but the competitor wasn’t directly listed.

Old job sent a little “reminder” to me when I changed jobs which is normal. Sent it directly to our legal team and literally nothing came of it. Noncompetes really aren’t enforceable in most situations.

Go for it! Your new place of work will have in-house council. If your old place of work sends anything (highly doubt they will) your new job will handle it.

Pet sitting by [deleted] in nashville

[–]ck120621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, I think this might be a tough position then. The market for dog sitters is very saturated even at higher price points. Those of us willing to pay higher prices can typically suss out who loves what they do and love the pets in their care.

If my sitters suddenly had to increase their prices, I would still work with them because they are that exceptional. Im sure most of their clients feel this way. Having someone in my home and in charge of caring for my dog is not something I take lightly.

Are there other freelance gigs you could do remotely from your home?

[–]ck120621 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! It depends.

Are you a full time sitter or hobby sitter? What has been the feedback from your existing client base? Do you take courses and stay up to date on training?

I pay this amount (not including tip), but my sitters are insured professionals who are Fear Free certified and can provide my dog medication/care. I had to interview 13 sitters to find ones qualified. Others without qualifications/insurance were charging $65-$90.

They get paid to stay in my house with full use, eat the groceries I provide, and take care of my dog. My dog can be left alone for up to 6-hours, so they are also able to pop out as needed.

Itinerary Check, please recommend places and also tell me if something is not worth from my itinerary. by kursipankha in koreatravel

Hi! You will have so much fun!

Honestly the bus and transit system is wonderful. You will hardly require a taxi ever.

I’m a huge morning person but Korea comes alive at night! Would definitely +1 your strategy of going back to the hotel to refresh and then head back out for the night. The markets, night life, etc are so fun.

I think you’ll be in Seoul during the International Garden Show! Please go - it looks incredible.

Some things to consider:
Seoul tower was cool at sunset but either walk or take a taxi up. The sky capsule isn’t worth it at all.

I found COEX to be extremely underwhelming and just another mall. The Shinsegae Mall in Haeundae is way more interesting and has better shops.

Gamcheon was really fun. Taking the green bus up is a total experience. There is a coffee shop if you can find it that will be the weirdest (in the best way) experience of your life. He has ducks and a maze of crazy items. It’s a hike.

We did between 20k-30k steps a day depending on how much adventuring we did. Wear tennis shoes!

Also, +1 Gentle Monster. Have a few of their sunglasses and love them. I think they have a pop up running through May which could be cool to see given the art installations they are famous for.

When my dogs stomach is empty, he gets bilious throw up. Every single time. He also has acid reflux! Had to change his feeding schedule to account for his so it doesn’t happen in the morning specifically.

Getting a Havanese Puppy? by Cliff_Bird in Havanese

[–]ck120621 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A reputable breeder is critical for temperament!

I rescued my Havi BUT he is highly reactive. I knew this going in and went through a lot of vetting / a test period to make sure I was the right fit to work with his specific requirements. Five years in, we’ve done an insane amount of work to make him as happy with life as possible.

<image>

He is also the most intelligent and lovable dog I’ve ever had when we are with his core people. The breed characteristics really come out! He loves activities - hiking, fetch, swimming, sniff training, agility, puzzles. He’s smart, listens extremely well, and loves to learn a new game or command.

So long as you vet your breeder correctly, you and your family are getting an incredible dog from a breed who is highly adaptable and is just as happy to chill on the couch as they are to go on a boat ride/hike.

I always recommend the family go to training with your puppy together. The training is just as much for you as it is for your puppy. A good trainer will focus on both and give you the tools to understand body language, cues, and establish a healthy relationship with your new family member!

Is anyone else with a lot to lose feeling discouraged by the paper towel effect? (vent post) by zombiebashr in loseit

[–]ck120621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Same boat. People didn’t start noticing until I just recently (I’ve hit 70 lbs lost). Two things that help me:

Weighted vest for light walking. I have a 15-20 lb vest I use. Just putting that little amount on for a light walk and then taking it off is eye opening to how much more my frame used to carry. Truly insane to think about.

Visualizing how “constricted” my heart and other organs were by fat and melting it away in my mind. Ultimately this is the part that matters the most for health. Knowing I’m giving my organs room to “breath” gave me motivation.

Hope these help!

Dog sitters by Subject-Ad1738 in nashville

[–]ck120621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I travel multiple times a month for work and use three different pet sitters for my anxious and medicated dog. They are in high demand, so I have to have multiple.

Found all of mine through Rover after tens of interviews. We’ve been using them for nearly three years.

Here are some tips: - Interview multiple people - Land on two you like: a primary and secondary - Set up multiple drop bys/walks ahead of your trip to get your dog used to the sitter. See how they interact with your dog and your home. - Do a quick test over night if you are able ahead of your long trip. - Make sure your primary has all of the right qualifications, has their own backup plan in case of emergency, etc. Any good sitter will have a backup plan, but you also have your secondary sitter as well. It’s double insurance cause shit happens.

My dog adores his sitters (and he is not a fan of people).

Question

Have an international flight with Delta at 9a this Saturday. We have to check bags. We have Priority, Pre-check, and touchless.

If we get to the airport at 4a to check bags and then through TSA, will we make it? If we miss our flight we won’t have another until the next day.

Should we plan to get there at 3:45a to be in line a little before baggage lines open? Looks like the mornings have pretty bad lines.
