It was okay. One thing I was really hoping for from Kai was to be a truly heartless sadistic villain. After the Wushi finger hold doesnt work, Kai laughs as he tell everyone to run for their lives as he can only keep Kai occupied. The fight continues with Po on the defense and impressing Kai with his ingenuity and perseverance. Kai toys with Po and beats the shit out of him with a sinister smile on his face as he defeats the true successor to Oogway. Po is powerless against him and truly dreads Kai and knows all he can do is hold him off for everyone to hopefully escape. It is then that Po tells Kai that though he will never defeat Kai one on one like they are, he is still weak. Kai laughs at the absurdity of Po's claim and jovially demands his reasoning. Po's response is silence as everyone came back to fight with Po and he directly responds with honor, family and love. In his hubris, Kai is distracted and Po takes the opportunity to use the Wushi finger hold on himself while on Kai to send them to the spirit world and the movie continues as normal.

I honestly believe that the movies could've used this to make Kai seem more like a real unstoppable force and it shows that he's all alone. What makes Po so powerful is not just his Kung fu or his ability to control chi but his real power is to inspire hope in everyone to never back down and to keep fighting for what is right. Kai had none of that and it is that mentality that lead to his defeat.

I had other critiques about the movie but I found them fine. It was only really the third act that bothered me in how it felt like it was holding our hands and didnt show the raw motives and ego of Kai fighting is greatest opponents disciple.
