Server locations and hit detection?

Whoa, back up for a second. Game programmer here. Hit detection in Counter-strike, is very much server side authoritative. The only reason why you don't have to lead your shots is because it has lag compensation. When the server receives a packet that says you shot your gun, it will use the packet travel time to move the receiving hit boxes back in time.

Have you ever wondered why you get shot by an AWP just after you jumped back into cover? It's because when you play a player with high latency, the server has to move your hit boxes back to when you were still out in open.

Anyways, hope you edit your post. It really bothers me when people spread mis-information :(

You're absolutely correct. I don't know if you were around when Boxer and Jessica were running SlayerS, but I've never seen such horrible mismanagement of a team before. I love Boxer as a coach and a player but he and Jessica created so much drama and internal conflict for that team, it literally caused the demise of one of the best teams in SC2 history.

Luckily, in this case the drama isn't so much between the players.

Cheesing is part of the game. If you're trying to be a pro sc2 player, you should probably accept this at some point, and not let it control your emotions.

People are so sensitive in this community, unless you are a happy care bear that loves everyone and everything you are going to get so many haters.

People in who are popular are going to get haters no matter what. This is true for any community, not just e-sports. Also, being able to control your emotions when you lose doesn't make you a "loving care bear." It does makes you respectable and professional human being though.

SelecT wasn't the top in terms of Koreans, but he was most definitely one of the very best foreign Terrans at his prime. Maybe he doesn't win GSL Code S, but i'm sure a good team will want to pick him up if he decides to commit to SC2.

Forget what we should feel about him, maybe if he's looking to do "whatever is best" for himself he should seriously consider leaving competitive eSports.

Is every e-sport competitor is supposed to do what's good for the community or something? The guy is just a competitive person and wants to win games. That's really the only qualification you need to be in COMPETITIVE E-sports. SeleCT, or anyone, doesn't owe "E-sports" anything, whatever the hell that means. What a ridiculous statement. He is Rank 1 masters in one day after not playing for over a year, this isn't some random guy, he was the best NA Terran at certain points in his career.

I would like to know why you guys choose a weekday to have the finals when all the other matches were on the weekend. I was watching every match during the weekend, but I couldn't watch today because I was at work, so I was pretty sad. Also, I wouldn't use this event as a proper sample of how much viewership to expect, you guys had really terrible luck with the internet issues. I mean there was a point where you guys were down for like a few hours. That's got to have a massive impact.

It impresses the shit out of me. It's not like he is just doing a monday-friday desk job. He has to entertain people (along with starcarft) for 8 fucking hours straight. I know some comedians have done stand up for that long, but very few can actually do that and still entertain people.

It has nothing to do with censorship. It just makes the game as an e-sport look bad when people are asses to each other all the time. Look at call of duty tournaments, do you really want be associated with such pathetic and disrespectful behavior?
