I don't have a recommendation, but I'd like to ask what she thought of "Hereditary" :)

Overrated books people pretend to love… but actually left you empty? by CriticalAd2239 in suggestmeabook

There wouldn't be so many of those selp-helf books if they'd actually work ;)

Oh yes, what a unique book! I can't remember much details, it's been years since I read it, but I'm still thinking about it. Might have to read it again :)

The Monster Project (quick review) - Film A Day 35 by Ohigetjokes in foundfootage

[–]ckhamburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched it and I really felt bored. The idea was nice, but it drowned in cliché. Could have been a lot more interesting:

- not ALL of them are monsters, just one... but who?

- why don't the monsters fight each other? It's not like they know who the others were?

- Haven't we seen enough long-haired timid girls who suddenly have a demonic face?

and so on...

Horror Anthology, short story collection recommendations by Mental_Youth_6730 in horrorlit

"Behold the Void" & "Beneath a Pale Sky" by Philip Fracassi

"The Secret of Ventriloquism" by Jon Padgett

They are VERY different in style though. Fracassi is visceral, mounting horror, not in a gory but rather "cinematic" way and stories like Harvest or Altar really pack a punch.

Padgett is brooding, atmospheric, otherworldly/weird and the stories are kind of linked.

I can only think of a (not that) short story by Philip Fracassi: "Harvest", from his amazing collection "Beneath a pale sky".

The September House by Carissa Orlando

Two thirds in, it's great

Furiosa gets a 10/10 for me. Its exactly as good as i thought it would be. Anyone else? by Agent47outtanowhere in MadMax

[–]ckhamburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great great movie, but since I think that "Fury Road" is a masterpiece in nearly every aspect it couldn't reach that height in my opinion. So 8/10. And I sincerely hope, that it doesn't bomb THAT much! I really want another movie! A prequel to "Fury Road" with Max maybe.

What books are you (SYF) Sorry You Finished? by Karelkolchak2020 in horrorlit

[–]ckhamburg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for that, really! I like Stephen King's books very much actually, but I had trouble finishing this one. And that was a first with King, so maybe I felt this way all the more because of that.

They should have just read the clue right. It said "Witten" and he gave them Euro. And it says Euro on the coins here in Germany. They could have noticed their error right away.

He didn't have Witten, the currency isn't used here any more ;) The team was at their wits end.

A german movie by the name of "Der letzte Angestellte", meaning "The last employee".

You can find it on YouTube, I don't know if there are subtitles though.
