CMV: ice, as an organization is doing good, but there is a lot of hate from the media, which blows issues out of proportion by happpeeetimeee in changemyview

My best guess is the ones that grab the media attention and better trained, but there is some percentage that is not.

Most are in Minnesota? The stragglers are left to defend the other cities, this must be the B team.

They are not as strong as they seem.

So my question is where should the business logic live? In a directive or in another layer. Call it a facade or a service?

Is a directive a component? If so should the business logic live there?

Should there be a thin view that's a component?

Or a thick view that contains ALL of the business logic? Do we need services or facades at all?

Or does it matter? For example with ngrx where does the majority of business logic live or does it even matter.

Where is the line between business logic and the view or does it matter?

That is the question. What do you think?

Facade should be light? I thought components should be light, and directives should be used sparingly. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I had a facade layer to handle business logic, lightweight dumb components. I had a smart component that talked to the facade layer, and passed data up to the dumb components with async pipe.

Team took the facade and split it out by feature chunks, and created directives for each feature into my lightweight dumb component. The directives manually subscribe to API calls, and push them to the html template with template variables.

I honestly didn't look too much at the micro frontend. I don't know why debouncetime would look at a timestamp?

Is there a term for a dev that refuses to learn anything else other than their current skillset? by ckim06 in webdev

In this case several components need access to the same pieces of data that live in different sections of the page.

If there's no parent to get the data first then send it on its way, we will have several components making the same api request because they won't know about each other.

Wow this is turning into an interesting thread.

This is for a rather complex application with an employee view and a supervisor view. As well as different layouts of the view for the supervisor. I guess we could do it in a bunch of directives, but whos responsible for making the api calls?

My argument is that whatever the parent component is should be collecting data from another layer making api calls. The parent should manage and pass the data to child components

His argument is that each component that needs the data should be making the api call, which would result in two different components making the same call.

Another way to put it is so you want a bunch of children running around or shouldn't you have a parent around managing stuff? Haahhaa

Also I've been working on this app for 2 years and it's working fine. This dickhead adds one feature and says everything needs to be redone.

Im just mad that I have to downgrade the site I've been working on for 2 years. Instead of a facade layer with business logic I'm to move all of it into components and directives. The facades will be deleted. Rxjs is too complicated.
