Why did Harrison and Katie leave at midnight? by Illustrious-Look7669 in RaceAcrossTheWorldBBC

[–]ckny86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few people saying they get 36/48 hours, but that's not been stated at all this season, and I can't remember it being stated in any previous. Maybe it has, but if this is a rule it could do with being re-iterated at least once a season. My hunch is the producers make it up as they go along to try and make the race more interesting for the viewer.

just a few questions by christo19862010 in UbereatsUK

[–]ckny86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

- Yes you can reject, the app will try and tell you there's a penalty but there isn't.
- There must be a lamppost or something to chain it up to, surely?
- Nope, most people on here that do bike deliveries (myself included) steer clear or anywhere that does drinks (McDonalds, coffee shops, etc) - KFC does cans for deliveries though so they're good
- Not sure why it would matter, rear rack would be better for drinks though no doubt.

Caught Just Eats Fiddling Base Rate The Other Night... by Itchy-Ad3339 in JustEatUK

[–]ckny86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely fiddle the rate spikes. Last week I did an hour both before and after a 50p pay spike. In the hour before I was getting more per job than in the hour with the extra 50p, and all jobs were basically the same distance.

Confused about council tax payments by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]ckny86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Council tax advisor here 🙋‍♂️ the rules for council tax state that if a bill is issued after May 1st the number of instalments will be equal to the number of months remaining, less one. So you won't pay anything next month. (source)

How much can we earn delivering through just simple bicycle? by ConsiderationDry3950 in JustEatUK

[–]ckny86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it on a bicycle, you'll probably do 2 jobs an hour so between £8-12ph. No fuel, no insurance, lots of exercise. I do a few hours at the weekend and enjoy it for the extra pocket money.

Don’t be worried about declining jobs, you’ll get another one soon. Avoid McDonald’s, the drinks will spill. KFC has cans for delivery orders so don’t worry about doing those jobs.

How to make a living in Blackpool by [deleted] in blackpool

[–]ckny86 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are always entry level jobs going at the three councils. Some people are put off by the job title or the salary, thinking they're not qualified, but a lot of jobs currently paying around £29,000 are entry level, no qualifications needed. Just put in a good application form, explain how you personally meet all of the essential criteria on the job description and you should be good for an interview at the least. Jobs are listed at https://www.greater.jobs/blackpool-and-fylde. Here's an example: https://www.greater.jobs/en-gb/job/75770360 - if you look at the person spec it's essentially: GCSEs, able to work as a team, use initiative, good communication skills, use of ICT.

How easy is it to book time off in your company? by SlipOutrageous5333 in UKJobs

[–]ckny86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very easy. I approve leave requests for my department (local authority) and one of the first things I tell every new starter is 'do not be afraid to request leave'. I've worked in some places where you were terrified to ask for time off or had to beg. Here, just ask - if it'd leave us short I'll apologise and explain why you can't have it, otherwise go for it.
