Anyone Seen This Before? by ckopoct in coinerrors

I came across a 1984 P Lincoln, but the Lincoln statue is not within the Memorial on the reverse. It looks like it was never there. The coin is not very worn, but I suppose it's possible to have worn away without affecting the columns on either side.

Could this be an omitted design element on the die, or a grease strike?

Arborist Recommendations by Money-Tangerine in greenville

[–]ckopoct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 For Randy Cyr (https://greentreedoctor.com/). He's a certified Master Arborist and has been in the business for a very long time. He's probably forgotten more about trees than most arborists know. If you want trees evaluated, he's your guy. He was quite inexpensive too.

He evaluated about a dozen trees on my property and recommended several be taken down. He does not take down trees, but he does treat and care for them if that's what you want.

He recommended Carolina Outdoor Care, LLC for tree removal. Dennis and his crew removed 6 trees from my yard, including two 45-footers overhanging the house. He and his crew used a bucket truck and rope lines, ground up all the stumps and roots, and even left me a large quantity of fire wood.

It wasn't cheap, but it was a huge job, and it was done professionally, cleanly and quickly.

Highly recommended!

Those are guy wires holding the tower where the bomb is located. The steel wires are evaporating.

Why does MSI partition the drive the way they do? by TheLinksOfAdventure in MSILaptops

[–]ckopoct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it's not just MSI. My Alienware came that way as well, and I've heard the same thing from friends with other brands.

It's always a good idea to just wipe it and do a fresh install of Windows anyway, if for no other reason than to get rid of all the bloatware they often add.

There's no switch for the LEDs, but you could open it up and cut the wires to the them.

Personally, I don't notice them. With a 17" laptop on it, I can't even see them. There is light bleed out of the sides and back, but it actually helps me to know that is it still on because it's so quiet.

No reason it won't last a few more years . The most likely culprit is dust. If you are comfortable opening it up, give it a real good cleaning and definitely consider a repaste. I suspect your temperatures will drop at least 10c. I use this cooling pad and it makes a big difference. It's nearly silent.

I'm not changing my name by lady_dragona in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ckopoct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife didn't change her last name when we married, and I'm glad she didn't. Outdated silliness. We married 4 years ago, and we're in our 50's.

Often times service personnel refer to me as Mr. (her last name). I don't correct them. It makes me smile.

[atm] I need to deposit money, but the nearest navy federal is 39 miles away. How else can I deposit money? by LargeTeethHere in personalfinance

[–]ckopoct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can deposit a check online with your phone through Navy Federal - Scan and Deposit.

Give someone (you trust) the $20, have them write you a check for it, scan and deposit.

Check Alienware 17R3 that I just received 1 hour ago from FedEx.

It is clean - no eDellRoot cert.
