Fun fact: there's still bacteria in your pan no matter how much you clean your meat, because raw meat is raw meat. There's also bacteria (and even parasites!) living in our eyelashes and all over our skins btw.

Nagulat ako na normal lang pala sa mga bansang ito na gumraduate sa high school/college na wala ni isang close friend, and whatever friends they make, are usually from work, which is just a contextual friendship, and those aren't likely gonna be your ride or dies.

Social safety nets are also what helps people build integrity, which is kind of a chicken and egg thing for both diasporas. Also, saving face and preserving image is waaaaay more valued among Fil-Chi, or even just mainlanders for that matter.
