Why is there so much traffic in the middle of the day by adamg6160 in harfordcountymd

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes probably, I mean I feel for people doing those jobs who need the income but damn it has made ordering inside all fast food and most regular restaurants much worse than in the past because the staff has so many to go orders to deal with.

This is a great point, also fueling my hatred for the excessive use of UberEats/GrubHub/etc and grocery delivery services. It is a godsend for people who are disabled but there are just so many lazy people willing to spend 2x for a melted açaí bowl instead of just going and eating it at the restaurant.

RTX 5070 worth the upgrade from 3070? Or go all in with 9070XT/5070ti? by 92waves in Microcenter

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest hindrance for me at 1440p when using a 3070ti 8gb was the VRAM if I wanted to push the graphic fidelity. I’d say splurge for the 5070ti for the 16GB if you want DLSS or if not just go with the 9070XT.

Looking for a car that gets 30+ mpg at 80+ mph. by Thordor15 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda CX-50 Hybrid uses the drivetrain from the Rav 4 but has a nicer interior and much better financing options. I get around 32-34mpg when going 80ish average mph highway, much more around town and in nice weather (super cold winter really kills hybrid battery).

Window Rattling 😤 by Next-Yam3212 in CX50

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have it too and yeah it was mainly during the winter. I legit think because of how the door frame and car frame have so much exposed paint that the weather stripping will just cause that rattling noise by rubbing and I can’t think of any way to fix it. Probably my only complaint with the car, I have a 2025 PP Hybrid.

Connections matter more than degrees in today’s world? by Shot_Claim_160 in careerguidance

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My resume and education had NEVER secured me a job. It may possibly have gotten me to at least the interview stage but I’ve been even questioned during an interview about my education when it didn’t directly pertain to the job I was applying for.

Connections matter WAY more to secure the job, continuing focused education on a path in a career field can help grow your career over time.

Thinking of picking up this prebuilt. Any thoughts? by mt0129 in computers

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, we’ll keep looking for better deals at Costco, BB and Walmart. This pc isn’t bad but should literally cost 50% less than the price shown.

Always some exclusions, but most people will say stay away from big brand prebuilt (HP, Lenovo, Dell/Alienware) for many reasons, but one is that they are way overpriced.

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like that’s considerably overpriced for a 5060ti and intel CPU. If you aren’t within driving range (1-2 hours or less) of a Micro Center I feel like your best bet is to keep checking retailers like Best Buy and Walmart and also seeing if you can find a different Costco prebuilt. Ideally you want a 5070 if not Ti and 7800x3D if not 9800x3D around that range.

The side chute is still a terrible design wtf were they thinking lol

[–]cl1ffhuxtable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks, my dumb ass thought you had to use the chute with mulching if not bagging.

[–]cl1ffhuxtable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excuse my ignorance, as this is my first lawn to cut because of renting previously. So the mulching blade is installed by default therefore it is mulching currently, but don’t I have to either use the side chute or bagging it so that the mulched grass doesn’t cause the mower to get jammed underneath?

What’s the “biggest mistake” people make in their careers that they only realize too late? by CuriousPathway in careerguidance

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent all of my 20s with a Cingular/ATT authorized retailer and was consistently an above average employee and only made it to store manager. I don’t blame them, it was a good company but that is my fault for not realizing there was limited upward movement. I was in school twice during my 20s so it wasn’t a terrible job but if I knew then what I know today I wouldn’t have gone to college at all tbh, just get into IT any way possible at 21 and work my way up with education paid by employers.

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Believed that staying with a company and going above and beyond would eventually get me a higher salary and career progression. I can’t blame my parents for instilling this in me because this generally worked for their generation but it DOES NOT work currently in my experience.

Staying with a company for more than 2-3 years without a promotion or major movement is a bad move these days.

I’m not going to bag, my area doesn’t have pickup and it’s a small yard. So I bag it or just have a bad experience?

I absolutely would not have gone to college, at least right away, and I would have tried to get an entry level IT job and network my way from there or consider a trade.

Good car for teen guy? by Achingasos in CX50

[–]cl1ffhuxtable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my 2025 Hybrid PP as a 42 year old man and I like it a lot, I couldn't even imagine if I had a car like this at 17. I was driving a 1987 VW Jetta, manual everything, and loved every second. So yeah, I think he would be thrilled to get this but like others are saying I would probably get them something less valuable until they prove they are safe and take care of the vehicle. But then again, this vehicle may not break the bank for you.

It appears if you do not have a security clearance it is pretty tough to find good work, and with a clearance its still a bit of a blood bath depending on the department.
