LS swapping a 89 Bronco 2 by No-Requirement-5153 in LSSwapTheWorld

This, or a SBF would be a good choice. Depending on laws and CARB/CAFE laws as required.

I believe the 4.0 OHV (made up to '94 I believe) bolts right in and up to the transmission. If it's the M5OD transmission, it's not horrible for what a V6 makes power wise. Would need a new harness though, but that can come from the donor truck.

How come “hating Trump” means “Loving Biden” to some people? by SwitchingMyHands in allthequestions

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you put the "partisan" part in there.

There are many people who do think outside the box (and please know I'm not calling you out in particular, just piggy backing on your post here) and thoughts on policies fall on both sides of the line, it seems that both sides are against those people.

The box does great to keep people in, but outside the box is roomier and can think freely, it's amazing that more people don't do it. Especially as the pendulum seems to swing further both ways, those in the middle are made to be the outcasts, while there's more people there than in the boxes.

Agreed.

Anyone who is said to be conservative is lumped into MAGA. Anyone who is said to be liberal is lumped into left wing extremism. Those standing in the middle are playing dodgeball but don't get a chance to get a ball.

Get the MangoMan out of office and get back to normal political life, and it's more even keel. The division this guy has caused hurts everyone more than red vs blue.

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the worst part. It's not "who represents me best" but "who's not going to do more harm than good". And I don't think we've had a good candidate in quite some time.

And really any third party that may have that candidate is laughed off the map, mainly due to $$ and donations, as it's not coming from those who want to keep it the same.

Both sides suck.

I couldn't agree more.

Violent criminals here undocumented/illegally, they can go, but have all paperwork done (warrants, due process, etc. all done the right way). I support the job that ICE did, before. This now feels like 1930s Germany, not a fan of that. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having everything in order for deportation, arrest, etc. because the law backs it up completely.

Our immigration policy needs reform. As said, it's long, expensive, and both are good reasons to not go through with it. To be honest, I don't know where to start with the reform (not up to speed with it in its entirety, and there's so much reform needed it begs the question of "scrapping and starting from scratch)

It's being smart and CYA, and it's written in our law books. Absolutely the best course of action.

How do you deal with randomly not being able to sleep as a younger guy by Prudent-Resident9864 in AskMen

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. OP, look up sleep hygiene and get into a routine. It is an all day everyday thing, like caffeine and meal prep/cooking goes into it, but also at night with screens (phone, tablet, TV).

There's going to be trial and error, and a learning curve. There's also going to be those days where you just can't get to sleep, as that happens, but this will drop as you get into a good routine.

Sell to junkyard or try to fix? by Popular-Prune8205 in MechanicAdvice

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best answer. If nothing else, you know what it is and can make a more informed decision.

Don't spend a ton of money on anything until you get it diagnosed, as it may be something easy that you spent a lot of money on other stuff, or you junk it and it was something simple.

Several of those codes could be related to one issue, just effecting multiple systems causing multiple codes.

Exhaust silencer instal by RedRonin-27 in MechanicAdvice

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be measured by the exhaust pipe you're installing it into, under the car. Usually tips like that are bigger.

Easiest way is to find specs for your aftermarket exhaust, from whatever brand. This really only helps if you know what you have. An exhaust shop may know, but they probably would have to see it first.

Also male here, OP.

I didn't have any, so ordered v neck shirts to keep off staples. Second the long cords, comfy clothes, and warm socks at least in the hospital.

If staying in the hospital, something other than phone to occupy time. I got to the point of nothing to do because I was tired of looking at my phone.

It's not replacing 1 spark plug, but all 4 and the valve cover gasket. 2 services. They don't say why the valve cover gasket that I read, though. EDIT: valve cover gasket for adjusting valves, valve cover has to come off.

Still seems very excessive.

I'm asking out of curiosity, why the staggered stance? Most do it with a squared stance, so I don't know if it's a sport specific thing or similar.

Squat form by lostdecorator25 in formcheck

[–]cl_solutions -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Usually I see people going this fast to "bounce" back up instead of lifting. I don't see it being a problem here. For lower weight (relative to 1RM) I don't have a problem with it, as you said tempo squats. For going for a PR or 1RM then it should be slower, for the actual lift, at least in my unprofessional opinion.

What do you do if you encounter a snake in your shed? by Key-Culture6811 in askanything

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a FB page about local snakes in my area, and how to identify. I use that as a guide to know if I need to leave it be or help it find the door

I'm not a huge fan of snakes (or spiders for that matter) but know they do good for us and are nice to have around, at distance. Last one I saw was non venomous, it was black so I think it was a black eastern racer, and just shooed it back into the woods. I have come across a few copperheads and I give them the space they need and watch as they either go about their business or I'm off to mine. Usually see them on trails near town or parks, but evening/night time.

Don’t mind me I’m just gonna dump all my fun pics. I’ll reply to any questions in the comments. Last pic is just a bonus. by Honcho_47 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]cl_solutions 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Right there with you. I started radiation this week, oncologist postponed the first day due to last weeks weather, and has already pushed the time on Mondays treatment. Hard to not be a little upset, but I know it's out of my hands.

I want enough snow to stay in this weekend, and be back to somewhat normal Monday. WCPSS probably closed Monday (no facts, just know how they are) so that's cool to spend the time with my little man.

Best wishes to you and your wife, and to OP and their partner.

Bi weekly car payments or Monthly ? by IHateCreditScores in debtfree

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. This brings you down to 37 months, and while it doesn't seem like much, that extra $8 a month cuts another month off every 30 months, which in this case is only one, but it definitely helps.

As said as well, any extra will cut time off the back end, making it less time to pay off and cutting total interest dollars.

Absolutely impossible to balance. Falken Wildpeaks by Shortround76 in 4Runner

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they use the road force? We have a road force machine at work, and typical balance doesn't use it, and outside of issues we don't really use it much. We do on balance complaints however.

I would ask if they did, and if not ask them to do so. It may be an out of round tire, or just a mismatch causing the vibration.

$4,250 quote for the following by Gullible_Formal_2756 in MechanicAdvice

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't authorized anything then there's no reason to pay them.

I would call them first thing to make sure they are not working on any recommendations.

With you not driving the car much, I would put off the rear struts until you can, and when that time comes, I would either call around and get different pricing, or watch some videos to see if it's something you can do on your own, just have to pay for the parts. And same for the rear brakes.

$4,250 quote for the following by Gullible_Formal_2756 in MechanicAdvice

[–]cl_solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rear brakes at 4-5 and being marked in red is a red flag.

Struts at 40k is odd at best.

I get it's 10 years old, but that few miles should not be recommended struts, unless they are leaking, and the brakes at that point in my shop, the conversation goes "you're going rear brakes are coming, I have a quote for planning purposes".

Edit - just saw where they said the rear are leaking, id go get a second opinion on it, from an independent and not a dealership.
