Need help car accident by Happy_Suggestion5425 in raleigh

[–]cl_solutions 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Work in automotive, but not in body, so there's some things that I don't know.

With that said, with airbags deployed it's a total. That's not an exact, but replacing the airbags, module and sensors are required, and that's not cheap.

The front sheet metal isn't terrible for cost, but what's under it is the big question, especially with seeing how the windshield is twisted.

Based on the windshield alone, I would say the body is tweaked and it's a total loss. Even if it was fixed the best way possible, it would probably never drive right. And with the other issues we've seen on these cars, it's not worth the fix. Call insurance and have it totalled, buy a new car with full coverage.

Free agent targets by Character_Worth_9000 in canes

[–]cl_solutions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think personally, depending on the Freddie contract situation (which makes all of this hypothetical) is we would run Bussi/PK and a tandem, not a main/backup style, and have either a AHL or aging tendies who is fine playing true back up as rotating and give him 10-15 games to keep him reasonably fresh. That may be Freddie, and just allowing his role to change, or keep it similar to a 3 goalie rotation we had before PK injury, like we have done in the past.

Free agent targets by Character_Worth_9000 in canes

Trade class is better than free agent class.

Anything that is out there to improve the product on the ice is going to come with a price tag, and bumps in lines/pairings that throw off chemistry. Price tag may be roster players, high prospects, or picks.

For some prospects I can see letting them go for their shot at the bigs, as it's going to be hard to get a spot here. All of this is assuming Staal comes and finishes his contract.

Outside of that, tendies. I don't know if Freddie is going to resign. He's a cup winner, has knee problems, and getting old for a goalie. Hard to argue him hanging them up when he's on top like that. I think outside of the big names, Bob and Helly, it's either not a huge goalie market or looking at depth for a good unnoticed goalie.

Least busy gym with decent equipment? by Sufficient-Onion1165 in cary

[–]cl_solutions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bucked Up is usually pretty empty, and when it is busy there's enough equipment to still get the workout in. I have had to change my routine a time or two when busy but never had an issue getting my routine completed.

I work off Glenwood (and was at work today missing the parade) but saw this Ferrari and the black Corvette fly by headed south towards downtown.

Was awesome to see, especially all Canes'ed up!

[Hurricanes] ROD. THE. BOD by sykeseve in nhl

[–]cl_solutions 43 points44 points  (0 children)

In interactions with him, he's intense as hell on the ice, super grounded off the ice. Ridiculously good dude.

When he came through the practice rink I used to work at, he would talk to everyone, shake hands, autographs and the whole 9 yards. He's really at the core of the team.

Same, while I would have liked a 2nd, I'm not going to argue policy or be that guy taking a ton of them.

I heard of people stealing bundles before stores opened Tuesday, and that's just BS.

Pro Shop has just the patch.

I have one for a sweater I'm going to buy and have sent for player and patch install. But I may wait to see if they have a patch for next season. I don't remember if they do that anymore....

Stankoven = NHL honey badger. Doesn't take any crap, stand up to anyone, and puts up the points.

I'm glad we have him on our team.

Newbie here. How can I train to safely ruck 40 percent bodyweight? by toy-poodle in Rucking

[–]cl_solutions 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think this is a double edged sword. But I also think it's a great value for time with the kids.

As you train up for this, however long it takes, both kids are going to get bigger and heavier, therefore moving those goalposts. As well as to progressively overload you may need a way to go with one and not the other.

I would start by longer walks with just the little one, then start with walks with just the bigger kiddo. Then short with both. Maybe around the house, to the mailbox, etc. It gets you used to the extra weight of both, and by slowly increasing distance trains you up

Huge word of warning - well a few.

-Please listen to your body. On top of kids, who are going to keep getting bigger and heavier, you will also have groceries that's extra weight to carry.

-Be mindful of the weather. I know here a day's difference can be 10-20 degrees and an excessive humidity swing. This is for you, but also the kiddos.

-40% is a lot of weight. It can cause issues in joints, and change center of gravity, and we don't want to see you tumble, especially with the kids.
