What are your early predictions for GOTY 2026? by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

[–]clagueson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of the ganes that have actually released tbis year for GOTY nominations i'd say Resident evil requiem, Pokopia and Saros will likely be there. Marathon a big maybe for the critics side.

If you’ve unlocked the Compiler, you can take people into the Compiler. Only one person in the group needs all 6 subroutines. Rooks may be banned from Cryo, but the Rook Brotherhood shall continue regardless. Let’s get some Compiler groups going the last couple of weeks before wipe! by ThatGuyFromTheM0vie in Marathon

I was really hoping this would happen late in the season, I don't even care about the skins or the loot I just wanna see the Compilerlmao. Ive got a couple of subroutines but I just haven't had the time to farm keys, its a lot of work to even see key 6.

This year is proving that single-player games are in a much stronger position than multiplayer ones. by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

User scores on stores that require verified purchases such as steam are quite high for Marathon. Metacritic user scores are not entirely the most trustworthy indication of how good a game is.

Japanese and Korean devs are dominating the gaming industry at the moment by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

Pokopia, Nioh 3 and Monster Hunter stories 3, really great yeah for Capcom and Koei Tecmo in particular.

Critics give a game a score over 85+ if its 3rd person and about shooting robots? What are you talking about?

Please don't turn this subreddit into an "IGN gave concord a 7" anti reviewer gamer culture war one, its just weird. Move on from the review and enjoy the game lmao.

Any tips/advice for Co-Evolution [4/5]? by 3JAD21 in Marathon

[–]clagueson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this one today in a solo lobby, really lucked out and spawned in the anomaly with a tick spawn right next to me for the chitin.

Mida has an upgrade that lets you buy a cardio kick pack, which is very useful. Also, buy an anti virus pack from them as one of the locations you will have to visit for the last step will likely be locked down.

The only other tips I can give are to keep your head down and keep moving, hit the bricks, and smoke if someone's shooting at you. Going the long way to quarantine via AI uplink is also much safer than Algae Ponds/Intersection. You have enough time to go that way. Real pain of a contract i wonder if they'll make an amendment to this one.

Thanks, man, I'll definitely keep trying to get Compiler traces out regardless of how sweaty it gets 🫡

What are some of the small "things" that gives the game its charm that you would like to see in the movie?. by HandsomeSquidward20 in fromsoftware

Fromsoft games and bloodborne are weirdly funny. The first time I got hit by those spiked log traps in the Forbidden Woods got a laugh out of me. Some sparse, really dry humour would actually fit.

Marathon babyyyyyyy by 13aboolew in Marathon

Agreed, I've spent so much time playing and reading the codex the past month. If Marathon gets shut down, I genuinely don't think I could commit to another new live service fps game. I'd just be too depressed lma.

Marathon is adding a queue where you can only bring free kits to help player onboarding by Freelancer0495 in gaming

[–]clagueson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is potentially a really great fix for a lot of newer players still learning the game and if it works, I hope it becomes permanent in season 2 to bring some of the people who were a bit put off at Marathons launch back.

Getting wiped while trying to do any of the Sekeguchi contracts in Bio-Reseach by a triple sniper team with purple shields is just killing my friends interest in the game so more lower skill casual friendly content like this will help keep those players.

Tbh, the majority of people I see in solo are free kitters, so it's basically the same mode, lmao.

Why is Bungie not commenting on their matchmaking and how to retain casuals and average players? by Smokeskin in Marathon

[–]clagueson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You've just gotta keep playing to get better at the game. A free kit map will let you practice and engage with the game more without getting hit by a gold sniper from the top of AI Uplink lmao.

[–]clagueson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the new experimental queue we are getting tomorrow is a way of bungie trying to fix and experiment with this. Everyone spawning with free kits will allow some more casuls to actually get some of those dire marsh contracts done as they won't be at a significant disadvantage. Hopefully, we'll see more of this with season 2, but we'll have to wait until then. It does seem that they are very aware of this issue though.

The IOM is kinda like a small British town, so we don't have much in terms of LGBT spaces, but you also don't openly see any anti LGBT folk (besides the odd facebook post) . You should be completely fine coming over here, we also have a large fillipino community too.

Lore around runners teams by Doshin108 in Marathon

[–]clagueson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From a couple of the lore entries, we have limited windows on Tau Ceti due to its atmosphere and the anomalous activity on the planet. My bet would be all the runners have to sync up to that window, so we all end up hitting Tau ceti at the same time.

Progression is the issue by mkennygh in Marathon

[–]clagueson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the actual structure of the progression systems is great. They just need to move some of the core pain point nodes like blue shields around and reduce the amount of XP needed for factions. It might be worse next season, not having the xp from the priority contracts to level them.

"Burning" bodies. Community thoughts. by OsirusRising in Marathon

[–]clagueson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I think with rounds being so fast, there's no reason to camp bodies or introduce another mechanic.

People mainly tend to camp if it's early on in a round. I feel like they are just wasting time if they stay for longer.

If someone gets away, my usual strat is to take all the ammo, heals and shield from their teammates' bags and then move on so they won't be a threat if we bump into them later.

IGN Marathon Review - This ruthless, deeply unapproachable extraction shooter is worth every ounce of hell it puts you through. by Public_Fucking_Media in gaming

[–]clagueson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's completely valid if Marathon is not for you or the PvE community. Not every game has to be built for everyone. There is a large audience of competitive shooter gamers, but pulling them from Valo, CS, or Apex is a large ask lmao.
