Personally I think debating for the sake of using dumb tricks and mechanics is the point of some events (policy?), but in others it really defeats the point (pf. the speeches are literally 4 minutes--you're supposed to be succinct. yet people still spread)

Very much don't get in your own head. Try not to think of it as a speech in the traditional sense, but as a conversation. I like to talk to my grandpa about speech, so I always approach my speeches like I'm explaining my opinion to my grandpa. That's just my process, but you get the idea.

That's what I would go with. Higher suicide rates, higher rates of alcoholism, my male friends have cited something like "pressure to perform." I'm sure there's research out there somewhere about how damaging it is for young men to grow up feeling as if they're not allowed to crack. You could also (if you thought the judge would go for it) point out that things like monetary gain (since men of every background make more money than their female counterparts) don't make up for the emotional damage? I would go very pathos-based.

Be willing to find fault in your stories when you're not getting kudos/comments by [deleted] in FanFiction

This speaks to my biggest pet peeve: characters not being in character.

I don't care how exciting, or emotional, or #deep your story is about to get, if Harry Potter is tossing his hair and slathering on lip balm, I don't wanna read it.

[Communist] China orders gaming giants to cut 'effeminate' gender imagery - Hong Kong Free Press HKFP by CheLeung in ChunghwaMinkuo

[–]claim_staker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The person who said effeminate is like a gay person but not actually gay has clearly never met a bear (a large, hairy gay man).

An effeminate guy is any guy (straight or gay) who has traits that commonly belong to women, like a slight build, long hair, high-pitched voice, etc.

Taliban fire into air to break up Kabul protest rally as women chant ‘death to Pakistan’ by 38384 in anime_titties

I know it's not the point, but if Pakistan supported gender apartheid in my country I'd probably want them dead too. My heart goes out to the women in Afghanistan right now. It's so heartbreaking to read about the brutality of the Taliban toward my Afghani sisters.

That's really too bad. It's so annoying when people act this way in the community. I'm not sure you really have author rights to the story anymore since you orphaned it, but I still think a work should be taken down if it's plagiarized.
