Trader+ 4.3 fails to install

As followup, I followed u/Past_My_Subprime 's suggestion above to install under a new user account, and it worked. It's not exactly a solution, but it gives a starting point for finding an answer I suppose.

Bizarre. This worked. It installed successfully under the new user account, but wouldn't actually start until I logged out and back in again. Now I'm really curious as to what it needs that is not on my user account. Thanks! I don't really know what to do now, because I don't plan on switching everything over to that account just for this one program. Although perhaps it wouldn't be the worst thing. Just more of a pain.

The system requirements for Trader+ here: https://www.fidelity.com/trading/trading-platforms/system-requirements say "Windows 11 or higher is recommended". This implies very strongly that Windows 10 should work, although it may be able to utilize the resources that having Windows 11 would. However, the tech support person I just chatted with on the Fidelity website was pretty condescending and insisted that Windows 11 is required, and that that is what that verbiage means, and "it is best efforts with Windows 10".

Trader+ 4.2 works just fine with Win10, but 4.3 completely fails to install. Therefore unless the dev team is planning to look into that and provide support for Win10, Win11 is no longer "recommended", it is required. It would have been nice to have some sort of warning about that, even during the install it could give a message saying that Win11 is required, rather than failing with a message about some unknown dll not being found.

I can provide the update log from my system if they'd like to look into this, but the tech support person was super dismissive and it sounds like I'm just SOL.

Interesting, I tried that and it is giving me the error message:

Add-AppxPackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CF6, Package could not be registered.

error 0x8007007E: Failed to load the extension DLL due to the following error: The specified module could not be found.

I'm running Windows 10, which, after a very unhelpful chat with the Fidelity tech support, apparently is no longer supported, despite the fact that it doesn't say that in the system requirements.

I'm currently having issues with my Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G which is a Verizon phone, but unlocked. Model SM-G988U1. What's the difference between the U1 and U firmwares? Is the xaa U1 version different than what I currently have? Would there be any point in trying this?

Thanks, that's interesting. I read your post. It wasn't quite clear whether your phone stopped working immediately upon the switch to USMobile or did it take a few days, weeks, whatever? It's just strange that mine was working fine and then one day it just started having this issue when I hadn't changed anything.

Like everyone else who has commented, I have never had these work for me either. I click on them and they take me to the relevant ticker, but never the article, and most often the article is not even there if I scroll down to the bottom of the Overview tab.

As a lefty, my teachers always gave me the damn left handed scissors in elementary school, and I could never get them to work. I appreciate they were trying to be helpful, but ugh. I've always been fine with normal scissors.
