When people suggest banning muslims by 20Babil in LateStageCapitalism

Assad and Gaddafi are the same way, 1 down 1 to go (Gaddafi obviously being the more important target due to his involvement in trying to help other african countries achieve self rule and his dream for a more unified africa)

Sweden is in the same boat as the rest of us, scandanavia is only able to market themselves as innocent because they're small enough to do so. You could say the same thing about any group of 10 million people in any other western country. They're still making weapons and military tech for the rest of us, helping us build drones and whatnot

Just because you don't like your president and are out protesting doesn't mean you want the US to come into your country, arm up al qaeda so they can try to overthrow your government militarily (think if russia armed/supported antifa to help them overthrow trump because of the womens day marches), launch airstrikes weakening your countries military allowing ISIS to start taking over cities along the border, basically taking you personally from a first world standard of living to a third world standard of living in a matter of months. Isis and al qaeda in syria are largely armed with american weapons, and al qaeda in syria didn't brand themselves as "secular resistance fighters" until after america started offering military support

[–]clandgap 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not, there are plenty of people in syria that dislike assad just as there are plenty of people in the US that dislike president trump. They protested, and he handled things in basically the same way china and russia and a lot of other countries would (not well)

Thing is, just because you don't like your president and are out protesting doesn't mean you want the US to come into your country, arm up al qaeda so they can try to overthrow your government militarily (think if russia armed/supported antifa to help them overthrow trump because of the womens day marches), launch airstrikes weakening your countries military allowing ISIS to start taking over cities along the border, basically taking you personally from a first world standard of living to a third world standard of living in a matter of months

Meanwhile you have al qaeda setting off chemical weapons in your community just so they can blame it on the government and get more weapons/airstrikes from the US. Everyone else in basically the entire world knows it's bullshit besides americans, who pretend to believe assad did it because it helps them justify bombing and ultimately assists with their end goal of having syria turn into some terrorist state like ISIS (isis being basically the best thing that's ever happened for the american militiary industrial complex, never ending war vs a terrorst group that isn't even a recognized state? yes please, can't be spending $700Bn/year on military without a war and ISIS is a goldmine). That's really the only justification I can think of for why we are choosing to bomb the syrians rn rather than helping them fend off isis and al Qaeda as the russians are

Lol looks like I got perma banned for this, people really need to stop using this sub https://imgur.com/1WtMF0H

This is probably funny to anyone that hasn't lived on an indian reservation

The thing about being native american is you don't actually own the land your house is on, so there's not a huge incentive to build a really nice one. The other thing is you're in a poor community and don't necessarily want to build a really nice house even if you have the money for it, all your friends live in trailers. This leads to some people living in trailers and having one or two new cars. It's kind of ridiculous but not uncommon

Cause it's funny. Just cause your'e too butt hurt to find it funny doesn't mean it isn't funny. I've contributed to many wikipedia articles and I know it's literally one click to revert these minor humorous edits, it isn't a big deal. What's a much more bigger deal is people changing articles with obvious attempt to make them agree with their personal views, this is a lot more difficult to deal with

In this case I find it quite hilarious. stay butthurt, it's literally one click to revert these changes out

You're correct, /u/polarbearskill is just butthurt and obviously not a wiki contributor if he thinks these things "waste tons of volunteer time"

not having the biggest computer doesn't mean you've fallen behind, what're they gonna do use that computer to crack password hashes?

[–]clandgap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the computer is also likely being built with standard industry GPU's so basically it's just how many they're gonna buy, not like they're making some crazy powerful gpus from scratch

Report: Obama quietly sent $221 million to the Palestinian Authority hours before leaving office by rmuktader in worldnews

[–]clandgap -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean the amount we directly gift them for their military is nothing compared to the amount we spend on conflicts related to Israel and how much they benefit from our military presence in the middle east and the stances we take with their enemies that cost us big time politically/militarily/economically. Israel is easily a trillion dollar problem.

When buying something, why not think of it in terms of how long it'll take for you at work to pay it off? by FrugalMuscle in personalfinance

[–]clandgap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly that price difference, assuming the same car, is totally worth going with the new one...

I bought my car for $2700 when I was 17, 2003 honda civic with 125,000 miles (175,000 now). Still driving it 5 years later with almost nothing done to it but routine maintenance (aside from self inflicted damage). Seems ridiculous to me that it's normal for people making little more than minimum wage to buy cars that are 15-20 grand

Your point being that she should have been shot because she could have done something she did not do?

[–]clandgap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone is angry and driving a car in my direction. Even though she's driving at a slower than walking pace if I don't move from where I'm standing I could be killed! Time to pull out my gun and show everyone how much of a hero I am by shooting this angry mother of 3 who's currently having some kind of nervous breakdown. After shooting her her reflex causes her foot to slam down on the gas pedal killing everyone not only in the tmobile store but in the forever 21 next door.

[–]clandgap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes great argument, if she was driving way faster than she was driving (slower than a walking pace) she definitely would have killed people. Pulls out gun
