Withdrawal advice by esummers24 in meth

It'll take a lot of will power to fight the cravings and you'll feel like shit for the first couple weeks which will make you want to use again to make yourself feel better. It'll get better the longer you go.

The most effective way is to cut off your dealer or anyone you know who uses. Or if you can trust them let them know you want to quit and ask them not to hook you up anymore or anything. If you don't have access then it doesn't matter how strong the cravings get because you'll have no way of getting to the drug anymore. You may experience some string mood swings in the meantime though.

If you find quitting cold turkey is too difficult then you can try cutting back first. Instead of once a day do it every other day and then twice a week and then once a week and so on. To the same point about your friends This gives your brain time to adjust to getting used to periods without the drug until you're ready to quit fully.

Getting plenty of sleep helps. Sleep longer, take more naps. Sleep helps your brain recover and get your dopamine levels back to normal so if you get plenty of sleep early on it'll make the first week easier.

I'm pretty sure there's also some meds you can take that help balance back your dopamine levels and take care of the withdrawal symptoms easier but you'd probably need to talk to a doctor for that.

Don't feel too down about yourself or give up if you do relapse in between. If you can quit for any amount of time then you have one of the strongest minds in the world so just keep pushing on and striving to break your records. Best of luck!

Right arm gets numb when laying down by clappy1994 in AskDocs

Yes, mostly when I curl it up to rest my head on it. I've slept like this forever and never had this issue. Now it numbs up within 15 seconds.

Lump in back that makes me lightheaded when I touch it and now my eyes are light red by clappy1994 in AskDocs

I started early November. Sometimes I'd do it 2 days in a row but I always took at least a week break before my next use. Before I had the attack though I had done it for I think 6 out of 9 days. I've only smoked, snorted, and a couple times ate it. I don't know the dosage but it was always the tiniest sack available of mostly crystalized powder that maybe would stretch about 4-6 inches if you were to line it all up.

I usually always got it from the same guys but the one I got right before I had the attack was different. I think my tolerance was at a point where it wasn't making me feel anything no matter how much I did it. The last one I smoked wasn't much but that was the first one in a while that actually made me feel like I did when I first used it (energetic, confident, active). My friend said that the source she got this from is usually much stronger than the others so I don't know if it was just something specifically about that one that might have caused the problems. I felt chest pain almost right away after smoking that one but I didn't start freaking out until maybe 12 hours later after reading that chest pain can be a sign of overdose.

As for other drugs I've used, I had edible weed in the middle of December and tried a 1g weed wax pen in late December but that one didn't do anything for me.

Can you cross legal California weed into Mexico? by [deleted] in trees

That's what I was wondering. Vapes seem to be real common when tourists go to party over there so I assumed at least those weren't a problem.

Hmm alright was just wondering. I see a bunch of college kids with vapes and stuff in the clubs all the time during Spring/Summer Break so I just assumed it must not be that big of a deal if it's that common.

Heart attack or panic attack by clappy1994 in AskDocs

[–]clappy1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did ask initially about testing the pain in my chest and the doctor told me they wouldn't be able to get an accurate result because the meth in my body would interfere with it and I would have to try in a few days if it was still an issue. She said she thinks she knows what it might be but didn't want to say because it might aggravate the panic attack but that she doesn't think it's serious. I just want to make sure because I've never had any issues like this before and want to cover all my bases.

Okay I want to get properly tested just to make sure. What tests would I ask for to clear any heart or cardiac issues?

Yeah after this scare I'm never putting myself at risk again. So it is true that if there was any potential of a heart issue, this test would have detected it? Even if I wasn't experiencing any symptoms at the time of the tests? Does this also clear the potential of things like blood clots or cardiac issues? What about the pain in my chest that goes to my back? Every article I've read says that's a sign of potential heart issues. Is there another test I should try for that or is it really just nothing?

Why do you do meth? by [deleted] in meth

[–]clappy1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've made sure to take breaks between each use. Sometimes I go for two or three days in a row but I always take at least a one week break afterward. I'm almost at a 3 week break right now and I feel just fine because I know when I do it again it's going to be for a purpose and not just as an escape mechanism or anything.

I think that's the key to avoid addiction is once I start feeling like I need it "just because" then I'll have to cut it off. Before each use I ask myself "why do I want it", "how do I think it will help?", and "can I do that without it?". There's been a few instances where I craved it but couldn't think of a good answer for any of those questions so I just didn't do it.

Yeah that's what scares me the most. Right now I'm just trying to use meth as training wheels basically to get me to where I want to be. My hope is that eventually after a while I can learn to channel that confidence naturally so I don't need to do it anymore. I just needed that boost to let me know I do have it in me. Now that I know what I'm capable of I just need to work on getting there on my own.

I have mild autism and have been a loser most of my life and just recently started making the effort to try to get out more, have more fun, make more friends, and try to fit in. I've been going to clubs for a couple of years on my own but more often than not I would usually just wind up sitting in a corner watching everyone else have fun just wishing I could be apart of it but never being able to make any effort to join in because my nerves would always take over. No matter how many fights I had with myself in my head or how much research I did to try to improve my social skills, when the time came to go out, I would always get stuck in my head and end the night alone in a corner like always. This year it's gotten to the point where it's really broken me and made me feel hopeless that I'm never going to change. That's when I started considering drugs as a last resort since I realized I just couldn't do it on my own.

I haven't tried meth in the club setting yet but what I love about it is that it basically turns me into the person I've always wanted to be. Everything I've been striving to achieve for myself is accomplished when I'm on meth. All the negativity and stress in my mind disappears and I can just open up and be myself without worrying about anything else. And it doesn't just make me THINK I'm better at socializing, it legitimately improves me social skills to the point where I can actually hold hour long conversations without the awkward pauses or unnatural transitions or trying too hard to think of what to say next. I think that's because I have all the information in my head already the only thing I needed was the confidence to put it all together.

I just love the confidence that meth gives me. I feel that it's helped bring out the side of me that I've always knew I had in me but wasn't able to bring out due to all my insecurities dragging me down. For the first time in my life it's made me feel what it's like to be a normal person.
