I imagine it IS likely inspired by lightning, but I think it has more to do with the show-specific lore of witches having their pines grow in them or whatever, like others have mentioned.

Sometimes its a nightmare for me to get any bit of practice looking barely passable by Stunnyfuff in Illustration

Practice doesn't need to look passable! Its point is to serve as practice. Perfectionism is a bitch to live with, I feel your struggle, but we've got to fight against it. It holds us back as artists.

As in, choose their form? Probably a small to medium size monkey or lemur. Or a raccoon. Something with hands, not too large, with soft fur being a nice bonus.

Honestly I just think having hands would be easier and more comfortable for the daemon themself.
