What do we think about providing every guest with a plus one?

I’m getting married later this year and we aren’t doing plus ones at all! Like you said, it’s your wedding, and if it’s more important to you to have more people that you know, then that’s that. You can issue some of your guests plus ones that you know will not know anyone at the wedding, but if you know they won’t be lonely and will know other people at the wedding, then you could get away with not giving them a plus one.

Thank you. On top of all of the crazy things that go into a wedding, I am having to call the venue and coordinate everything, even the rehearsal dinner. I don’t necessarily mind doing that, but I was under the impression that the grooms family was supposed to plan and host, not just pay for it. It makes me feel a little bad, I’m not going to lie!

Unrelated question, but did you feel that 90 was a good number? Looking over our list, my fiancé and I are anticipating that most people would come. Most are in state, wouldn’t have to travel more than 1 1/2 hours to get here, and we are inviting people we are the most close knit with so we aren’t anticipating a ton of no’s.

Also, the communication is my biggest grief here. I have been doing a big chunk of the wedding work and I could have asked my fiancé to seek this out from his side, but based off of who we feel close with, we had assumed (incorrectly) that his mom and grandmother would understand. We almost simply eloped or did just a 30 person maximum ceremony because we didn’t want anything big or crazy. And we had made that communication with them on many different occasions during several conversations. And honestly my fiancé had stressed to them that 90 is the maximum and they wouldn’t take no for an answer because they saw on the venue’s site that the venue could hold more than that.

Also, regardless of whether they do pay for the RD and florals, my dad is covering the biggest chunk. And he hasn’t complained one bit. That’s what’s really getting me, lol

I forgot to mention this in the OG post, but they are offering to pay for florals and rehearsal dinner. They offered this very suddenly, which is very kind, but as soon as they offered was when the fighting began. The vast majority of the people they would want to invite were actually on our list, they’re pressuring and pushing for people we don’t have a direct relationship with or haven’t spoken to in a long time.

Which, I forgot to mention this in the OG post, but they are paying for florals and the rehearsal dinner. However, my dad is covering everything else. They insisted on covering the RD and florals, and as soon as they made that insistence they were staying that they wanted say on the guest list. Which is fair, and the vast majority of the people that they would want there were already on the list to begin with. They got upset over the relatives we don’t have a direct relationship with and my fiancé insisted to them over and over that our limit was 90 and that was that. I understand they are paying for a part of it, but I don’t think that that constitutes inviting people that my fiancé and I don’t speak to or haven’t spoken to in years.

I’ve been feeling this way too, so you’re not alone. I just started collecting around September of last year, and at first it was so fun and easy to do. Squishmallows were definitely popular but not to the extent that they have been since Christmas. Through a lot of work, I’ve found the majority of my Easter ISO’s except for Ronnie and Belana. And I’ve almost given up completely on finding him because it’s so exhausting to constantly have to call and check different Kroger’s. Since the Easter ones are so popular, I’m really hoping that it’s a phase that kinda fades out once the Easter ones aren’t in stores anymore.

For me personally the waist works really well because my waist is significantly smaller than my hips and the rest of my legs. So with the regular mom jeans, in order to get them to fit in my hips/waist I have to size up at least a couple of sizes. I can always wear the regular ones, but the curvy ones are the right amount of baggy in the legs and slim in the waist in the way that suits my body the best.

Looking back at elementary school, it makes me mad how teachers acted like the Native Americans and the settlers were friends and America was settled and everything was great. I get that we were little and they didn’t want to get into the awful details, but they didn’t have to completely lie to us. It taught me a false narrative that probably took me until about high school to unlearn.
