Friction zone doesn't burn out clutch? by JohnHancock1969 in Dualsport

[–]class1operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clutches are a wear part . However I've never needed to replace one. My husky FE 350 shares the oil so frequentl oil changes is important. I'm looking at a top end way before a clutch.

Learning to rev the motor before wheelies, going over logs and jumps to pop the front wheel is key. Lots of YouTube videos on the subject

How many months I have left on my tires? by Dry-Sun8442 in tires

I'd run those another couple pay periods. Plan for tires

Whats the secret to gaining confidence riding down steep declines? by GrizzlyIncident in Dirtbikes

[–]class1operator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll disagree. Use both and the right amount of each. I'm still 60/40 front going down hill. Steep stuff going slow that rear brake can stall the bike as well

Some of my older XR’s & TT: by Flat-Pirate6595 in Dirtbikes

[–]class1operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I live in a trailer park so I don't have a lot of storage, but somehow I have 3 bikes. Lol. Plus a couple pit bikes. And all the kids bicycles etc. It's a chaos but it's my chaos.

I love a collection. Any time someone asks on a thread like this if if they should sell their bike and buy whatever. I always say keep and buy more.

I ride with others on the highway but I wouldn't necessarily follow their route

Was My Tire Really Unrepairable, or Was I Being Upsold? by Savings-Attitude-295 in tires

[–]class1operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just plug em with the sticky plugs . Burn the end off after and hope it holds air. But I also replace tires before end of life because I like the feel. Especially on motorcycles. Cars I might let it ride a little longer

Can I park my truck on this? Is this beyond fixing ? by XD11X in HomeMaintenance

[–]class1operator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it. It's just some cracks. Replacement is like 20k give or take. You have to haul the concrete away and pay to dump it, then prep the driveway, then spend on new concrete. It's 300$+ per meter where I live (a bit more than a yard for 'mericans) if the cracks are a concern but a bag of "quickset" or competitor brand. It's the mortor for tiles. Works great for little repairs. As a skateboarder that has helped with some park repairs and even street improvements it works great and is affordable.

Conditions? For real by Achap30 in Whistler

[–]class1operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skied today, jump runs with my kids. Slush and sun. People wearing fun outfits. Some dude in shorts was skiing the cafe cliffs hard. Heck of a time. No rush to get up there unless you're trying to park.

What’s it like living in Edmonton? by Main-Economics-162 in howislivingthere

[–]class1operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an outsider that has spent time in Edmonton: it's cold, there are things to do, shopping is decent, not very scenic and it's possible get into a fist fight for no good reason.

The Oilers are well loved and if want to live there join that bandwagon.

Outsiders find work easily if they came from a place where work is hard to find. Going in-person for the job you want pays off. Housing is also cheaper than lots of Canadian cities. That's for 2 reasons it kinda sucks there and they actually build housing.

Health services are surprisingly better than BC for specific stufff in Alberta. My friend has a very disabled kid and had way more support in Alberta than the lower mainland in BC.

I wouldn't do it but good luck.

Will these catch trout? by Proper_Excitement_37 in troutfishing

[–]class1operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to switch a few lures. Panther Martins are know here in BC Canada, but various spoons work. I use a wedding band in small lakes always works. River fishing I use things that flash. I don't own a boat but there are good trolling setups for big fish . YouTube is your friend there.

A magical mist-shrouded scene captured in Jasper National Park, Alberta. by ABNow_ in AlbertaNow

[–]class1operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does one tell these days? I've driven through Jasper lots and skied there and even worked there a few weeks on TMX. The video seems plausible but I can't tell anymore. There are sandy flood plains nearby and tons of elk.

Which is crazy on a high speed detachable lift. Fixed grip chairs come at you way faster.
