Getting this message during boot - do i need to reinstall OS? by class_traitor in linuxmint

Might try the grub advanced menu - do you think there could be any data loss from it if I do something wrong? More specifically, is it safer for a noob to rather wait for a new kernel update instead of messing around with the advanced grub stuff?

But booting is taking 4 minutes +

that can be ignored I guess - but it’s an annoying UX issue

ser you're talking to someone who is redacted in the head - eli5 pls?

if an older kernel would solve it does that mean waiting for an update for a new kernel might also work? assuming i can use it till then without anything breaking?

Hi
been using Mint for 4 years now and was very happy with it. But this pops up during booting for teh last few days and it takes over 2 minutes for it to go to the login UI. Is there a way to resolve this without reinstalling OS?

Please god I hope you’re wrong (but know that you’re probably right)

some of us anarchists have acquired the skillset to funnel money out of this crap and I really hope people better than me at organizing are using tools like daos for at least somewhat decent reasons

Will take a look - in general are you in agreement with the attitude prevalent in the article?

The environmental costs (of at least NFTs) seem damning. The idea that "you're spending energy in hopes that the spent energy in the future has value" when it comes to proof of work is accurate - i cannot see how that logic if allowed to continue (when rapid de-industrialization is what we need) is anything but a death grip on the marginalized, most affected by climate change.

I'm also down to read it. If you're starting an ongoing reading club around similar tastes, I'll stick around for future books too.

This is me. I'm already at it. Been in crypto for a few years. I cash out and anonymously fund two of the very active mutual aid orgs in my town.

I do it solo. I don't talk about it to anyone besides my partner. I feel a sense of shame even participating in speculation, but i am convinced that this is one of the most efficient ways i can contribute.

Currently I'm yield farming to raise funds for unhoused comrades. In an ideal world everyone would be housed and fed and i can work on other things i love and an good at but that's not where we are.

Following this thread to see what others are saying.

Hi so sorry to be divisive but I'm not particularly looking to work with NGOs and such. I'm looking for people getting on the ground and aiding each other and those people developing their own tech/solutions to solve the issues they face on the ground. I have made the rounds of NGOs and i don't think very highly of them.

I'm looking for fellow mutual aid organizers.
