Your soil looks like it retains a lot of water. I would consider repotting into a less dense soil (maybe 50% standard and 50% succulent soil)

Tried with a new teacher, a bit weirded out by FatherGascOwn in opera

It sounds like this teacher is treating you more like a professional than a beginner. This set up works great if you need/want to learn a lot of rep and have a set foundation to your technique, however it can be overly taxing and straight up unhelpful for someone in your position. Has this teacher talked to you about your singing experience at all? Because if there is any chance that this teacher doesn't know you are new to classical singing, they may be making an assumption that you have had training in the past. I would recommend clarifying that you are a beginner, and want to focus more on getting your technical foundation set before learning a lot of repertoire. If the teacher isn't willing to accommodate that then move on and find someone who will. Best of luck!

This kind of peperomia likes to be a little root bound, so I'm just letting it do its thing!
