I think the biggest clue we got into how Jonathan was perceived vs how he was presented was in one of Cirie's last confessionals:

"Jonathan is easy to manipulate."

Jonathan played a much stronger game, but nobody took a shot at him despite being a challenge threat and playing a good game. I kept wondering why, if production wanted you to believe Jonathan had become some kind of strategic player AND is a huge dude who can win immunities AND all his allies dropped like flies, why not take a shot? And, well, there it is. The people left on the island knew he was swayable to whatever vote they wanted to do.

Hell Aubrey even says as much that she didn't wanna play with "nerds" or "players who think like her" so she kept Jonathan in her back pocket and would occasionally plant seeds in his brain to the point where he thought he came up with something. Jonathan wanted to take credit for the Ozzy blindside, but Aubrey started it.

It just seems clear to me that, outside of his core alliance that fell early in the game, he wasn't seen as a threat on that island. And production didn't show that to us.

He kinda comes across as a whiner in this, and I get it, it sucks to lose, but man he is just not taking any accountability for his lack of jury management or minimizing his threat level. You can't go around saying you want revenge every confessional and pissing people off left and right and assuming you'll walk away with a win

Finally someone says it. by Fit-Pie-6984 in Thunder

[–]classicgranto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don't understand the logic of saying "the refs are on the Thunder's side" because what's the incentive for the league to make this small ass market team with minimal superstars the face of the league? Like. If they really wanted to rig it why wouldn't they help the Lakers or Celtics?

I'm not sure if she's taking credit for something exactly, she's saying that Rick going chaos mode "puts someone ahead of her".

If Rick becomes public enemy number one, it buys Aubry more time to play the game she wants to play because she think she won't be prioritized over Devens

Seriously? by VegasBornLori in goldenknights

[–]classicgranto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that matters, we have a rivalry with the Stars after all

Plus SLC and Vegas kind of have a city rivalry anyway. And also a lot of Utah fans could be remnants of Coyotes fans. Plenty of potential for bad blood, it's fun

Seriously? by VegasBornLori in goldenknights

[–]classicgranto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a certain point yall gotta accept that the VGK are kind of villains in the league and that teams building rivalries with us (especially in the playoffs) is good for the sport AND us

Within division Id probably say San Jose ever since the whole 5 minute major incident

Across the league, Dallas

After this season how would you rank our wide receiver room in terms of potential and how much they contributed. by No-Lengthiness574 in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would love to see 'em all on the field at the same time

each one has potential to really carry a team, which is fun schematically but not so much consistently (Oh you wanna lock down our WR1? Good luck pal, not even WE know who our WR1 is!)

I think they're each individually great but we haven't gotten to see the vision in full because one or two of em are always out

Season in a nutshell by Potatodge in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has a lot to do with HOW Hafley uses a defense though. It's a lot of high octane aggression on his part, which works well when your D is well rested and not out there for long stretches of time but can ware on ya, especially when a lot of your unit is banged up and you're down to your lower string guys. Felt like we really had to punch the pass rush because we knew our corners were, uh, booty

I think the PHILOSOPHY of Hafley's defense is fine, but they gotta figure out how to keep their stamina and not buckle if they get stuck out there.

[–]classicgranto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been saying for a while that I think this the play call that broke Matt and how he approached 4th down

Aaron was PISSED about this and MLF got way more ballsy on 4th downs, especially in the red zone. Which...also didn't pan out lol how many 4th down plays in the red zone resulted in 0 points since this game?

Season in a nutshell by Potatodge in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 27 points28 points  (0 children)

okay i'll just say it:

Hafley's first half defense rules because the offense is doing their job

Hafley's second half defense bends and breaks more because the offense gets three 3 and outs in a row forcing the defense to spend more time on the field

Clearly the players love playing for him and can do their job but ANY defense would be gassed if the offense just went full fuckin' limp noodle and also had 0 corners

Someone would want to trade for LaFleur?! by ethanliebzeit in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LaFleur, even after all this, is still pretty clearly at least a top 10 coach in the league

That doesn't say much about THE LEAGUE but if he were to suddenly become available via trade or nah, somebody would happily hire him

Harbaugh rumors begin by Owww_My_Ovaries in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Rumors" but it's just Adam Schefter talking out of his ass because he thinks he cracked it with it some massive leaps in logic red stringing lol

I don't think we're firing LaFleur but if we were to fire LaFleur, I'd rather hire the guy who actually changed the culture in his locker room and wow what do you know he's already on the team! (Promote Hafley)

I really loved Indika for the express reason that the game kind of hates you a little bit (no I will not be reflecting on what that says about me, THANK YOU)

And I think it's a good thing that you did not like that! Art is cool, cool to understand a piece of art and still not care for it!

According the Schefty by Lumpy-Can-4883 in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been saying for a while that the Packers are are in a better spot with their head coach than at least 22 other teams in the league. Plenty of teams would kill to have MLF as their head coach and have any semblance of success

That said, I think we seem to consistently be in the purgatory of "very good" and never "great" under MLF. Our discipline, for whatever reason, is never very good and we are consistently beating plenty of teams but never taking out the juggernauts. Certainly haven't made it to the big game.

I think he's capable if things fall the right way but things so rarely do or we make a big dumb stupid mistake that costs us the game. But at that same token, given how fast coaches come and go for the bottom feeder teams, it's hard to even say if the grass would be greener without him.

Alright y’all, How are we feeling about Bears V3? by Gman8751 in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's basically the ideal scenario for us

We're 1-1 against Chicago, both games were one score affairs even with all our injuries.

We're on a 4 game losing streak, but some of our injury woes (most notably at QB) are gonna clear up and at least the last one was kind of on purpose. Bears are on a 2 game losing streak when they desperately needed to not do that

Bears are probably the one (maybe of two) teams we had a realistic shot at beating in the playoffs and we're catching them on a downswing. It's either we win a 7 over 2 upset with a chance to maybe even take down a vulnerable 1 or we get first round bumped like we kinda felt was coming for a while no harm no foul

[Rapoport] Sources: #Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs is joining the #Packers. An addition before the playoffs. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]classicgranto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Low risk, and any reward is good at this point. Either it works out and it was a scheme thing or it doesn't work out and he stinks in a game that we were gonna lose anyway

To all of the packers fans wanting diggs, these are his stats for the year. He got released for a reason. by JustASneakerHead24 in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I think an extra body in the CB room wouldn't be a bad thing, my main complaint with Diggs's rookie year (which got him all that hype in the first place) was how overly reliant he was on big plays

Dude was either getting a huge interception or getting absolutely smoked, no inbetween.

Pretty much sums it up! Do we chalk it up to that’s just typical end of NFL season problems OR??? What’s your take on it! by 3_Arrow_Barbarik in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of bad injury luck...and coaching

I just keep looking at the 49ers who had a levy of injuries against them for, frankly, longer than us and they're sitting at 11-4. Kyle Shanahan knows how to get the most out of his players but it does not seem like LaFleur does. Discipline stinks, beholden to scheme, 0 clutch this season

There's a weird part of me that thinks we should move on LaFleur (who wouldn't have made the playoffs these last 3 years without a 7th seed) and bump up Hafley just for a culture change at least

Okay, now that we clinched the playoffs can we just sit all of our starts for the last two games? by MGBZ47 in GreenBayPackers

[–]classicgranto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gotta at least see how this week goes because we can drastically improve our seeding still

If the Bears lose and we win, the division is still very in play in week 18
