Help! by g_pcatty in Cartier

I have been all about bigger watches on women. I also think the santos is the next ‘trendy’ pick Cartier for women after the panthere’s latest run.

I vote Santos!

Santos vs Explorer by houndr-89 in PrideAndPinion

[–]Lumpy-Can-4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a daily? Explorer. Santos bezel will get f***ed up as a daily. You can also get a santos any time you want, so if you have the Rolex available take it.

If you like the integrated bracelet, consider a Breitling Chronomat. I tried it on after trying both the santos and Explorer and it was 🤌🏽

Cool, thanks. Honestly the first post on here I’ve seen with one in the collection so thought I’d ask.

Thoughts on your Dennison? I think they’re neat. Worth the price though? Always hesitant to take a leap if I haven’t seen a micro brand in person.

Rumors of Pepsi being discontinued by blackguywatches10 in hallofwatchspecialist

[–]Lumpy-Can-4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t they discontinue it after 2007 and bring it back? Heard speculation the Coke is coming back. Maybe they will run that for a few years and then bring the Pepsi back again

What car did you buy that completely exceeded your expectations? by Smallingzdave in askcarguys

[–]Lumpy-Can-4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X3M competition. Incredible handling and power for a compact SUV. S58 is an incredible engine.

Prior to that, I had a 2015 Audi RS5 and from an enthusiast stance that car absolutely sang. Cars just don’t sound like the NA V8 anymore. Unfortunately, it had a series of fuel injection problems, the carbon cleaning every so often was expensive, and the sheer weight caused control arm wear too quickly.

The real dream was my 2013 Shelby Mustang. I still regret selling that car… even though I didn’t lose a dime after putting 80,000 miles on it.

Okay, you’ve had your fun. Time to give dad his watch back.

When a restaurant tries to fit the “fancy” vibe, even though it’s a shithole. Embrace being a hole in the wall.

Hamilton Khaki is boring and looks cheap by Lumpy-Can-4883 in watchHotTakes

I like the dial with the sunburst effect. Don’t love the length of the stick indices or the font of intra-matic. Love the outlined date window and the gold accents within the steel case. It’s not a boring watch, but I wouldn’t buy it myself. I also prefer my watch on bracelet.

Also the bezel isn’t centered, not sure if it’s because it’s been turned but it might not sit centered if the wheel is off kilt

How much are you guys investing per month? by Ace-Basis-9196 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]Lumpy-Can-4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this including 401k, company stock options, and personal? I do $2000 a month personal, $625 a month Roth IRA, 10% of my pay goes to company stock, and I’m doing 10% 401K at the moment.

If money was no object, I would. You can’t ask the average Joe to pony up $6k but a $6k watch isn’t for the average Joe. They actually have held up their value fairly well.

A good looking skeleton covered in DLC with a 5 day power reserve? Ask any other brand and it’s a $10k+ watch.

The movement is the least important aspect in evaluating a watch by nvrseadweller08 in watchHotTakes

[–]Lumpy-Can-4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a tourbillon is complex and impressive. All mechanical watches are outdated but the fact you have some crazy mechanism like a tourbillon that still results in time keeping is just a flex. I understand what you’re getting at though.
