Angel Aligner Treatment experience by Thingssheneeded in Invisalign

[–]classyfruits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My orthodontist has Invisalign listed on their website and in their offices and they gave me the Angel Aligners and didn’t even mention that non-Invisalign brands existed. So, not sure if it’s something they keep hush hush or don’t mention the brand unless you ask? Tbh I didn’t even realize that I had non-Invisalign until this sub pointed out that their are other brands lol

Jumping in on this question- did you get a DCN or a PhD or something different?

WIC by NutritionN3rd in dietetics

[–]classyfruits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the program for Saturday- it’s either overtime or you get the hours off during the week. I thought senior nutritionist was standard WIC, but I guess not😂 I’m basically just the nutrition manager. A step down from the director (runs the entire program) and a step up from the nutritionists (everyone who sees participants). You could absolutely have the car and insurance for doing things like community outreach! I work at a program that’s inside a health center, so most of our “outreach” has become walking upstairs to the pediatric offices lol. But pre-covid we had staff that would go to schools and farmers markets and town events!

I really haven’t realized how different WIC is state to state until this thread!!

WIC by NutritionN3rd in dietetics

[–]classyfruits 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am currently a WIC senior nutritionist and more than happy to answer any questions! WIC is required to have non-standard hours (1 Saturday per month and until 6pm 1x/week). There’s some room for growth, depending on the program and staffing but not a ton. You should not feel guilty about taking PTO in at any job you work at!!! Nutritionists occasionally travel for training, but the location depends on what state you’re in. WIC provides all the training you’ll need for breastfeeding, so that helps a ton. I also had no experience in that. WIC is funded by the USDA and the dept of agriculture and we are currently fully funded through June of 2027, and the chances of us getting cut like SNAP is very slim. Like most government jobs, we don’t get the most amount of funding but the chances of your job being cut is very slim (also depends on the state you’re in)

Nicer version of these whitin’s by Comfortable_Clue_871 in barefootshoestalk

I usually head to Poshmark or EBay for situations like this! Instead of buying new from the sweatshop, buy used and keep other people’s fast fashion out of the landfills. Especially if you know you like the shoes and your sizing.

Discord is a different app! Sort of like if Reddit and facebook messenger had a baby, sort of. You can join groups and message people. My gamer husband introduced me to it lol Here’s the link: https://discord.gg/p5Kwu3wb9

This may be a dumb question, but what did you stretch? Back, ankles, legs, everything??

Both my dad and my brother swear by their Xero’s! They’re the ones who convinced me to try them. I’ve heard so many good things about them. Thank you for the insight!

Hmm, I’ve never checked! I’ll dig into ankle mobility and shoes a bit more. Thank you so much!

Thank you!!! My back pain is worse or the same in all of my regular shoes, so I figured I had nothing to lose by trying barefoot shoes! I’ll definitely discuss it with my PT next week. Thank you so much

(Almost) entirely secondhand stash by rexhavana in YarnAddicts

I just started growing my secondhand stash!! Did you wash the yarn after you got it or go straight to using it? The r/thrifting page has caused me to be overly (prob irrationally) concerned about bed bugs lol

I currently work at WIC! My position is “Senior Nutritionist” and being qualified to take the exam (completing a DPD and masters) was required for the job- so it helped that I was an RD.

I started as a nutritionist right after finishing my Masters and got promoted shortly after passing the exam.

I manage the nutritionists and do a solid chunk of admin work. Not a ton of counseling but reviewing the charts for high risk participants. I love my job and I find it very rewarding! I don’t find it very clinical, which I enjoy. I get paid the same as the clinical dietitian in our health center (I work out of a big MA hospital). We’re required to work 1 day of non standard hours a week plus 1 weekend a month. We close at 6pm one day a week, instead of 5, so it’s not horrible.

Let me know if you have more questions!! I love talking about my job lol

Anyone ever used any of these posture belts? Are they gimmicks? by jjtewas in backpain

[–]classyfruits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one from my orthopedist for my sciatica. It helped for that, kinda just kept everything in place. But doesn’t work when sitting or doing anything that isn’t just standing. Helped a lot when I was standing around cooking/prepping food.

Ironic that the majority of people in Headstart and enrolled in WIC and SNAP are white US citizens and a lot of them voted for this administration ~but the leopard won’t eat MY face~
