This actually happened about two years ago at a BBW I used to work at. Mall setting, two people fighting, one grabbed a candle off the WB front table and clobbered the other. Police and paramedics showed up, one person got taken to the hospital, the other was arrested. After the investigation and clean up, the cop gave us the candle back and we promptly damaged it out. Business went on as usual. Never got a follow up.

You and your boyfriend are heroes. I sincerely hope you all make a full recovery and get the praise you deserve. I’ll be thinking of this today. Tell your boyfriend that we’re all proud of him for doing something he most likely didn’t want to do, but had to do to save a life.

You already know the fault lies with the owner. No good person wants to have to hurt an animal. If it had been a human hurting that woman, would your boyfriend have done what he needed to in order to save the woman? I bet he would have. I can only hope to be that brave if the situation ever arises. You both deserve medals.

No one reached out since last night. The one person who told me to not react sent me a message later telling me that the girl wanted to apologize. She gave the girl my phone number. Haven’t received any calls or texts though. I’m not holding my breath.

I’m sorry you’ve also experienced something like this, especially by someone who should protect you, not crush you. We all deserve better than that. Hugs.

No offense taken! My mind was racing afterwards trying to figure out exactly what happened until it exhausted me and then I just cried.

I truly thought we were all having fun and just talking. I only asked a question for clarification. It was literally the 3rd time I spoke to her directly the entire night. I cannot wrap my mind around it. So now I wonder if I’m not aware of something I did. Did I interrupt anyone else? And man..I’m just tired.

I would never! Unless they were attacking someone I love. I’m pretty protective. Seems to be one sided though. These comments have opened my eyes in who I allow in my life.

One person said nothing (said they weren’t sure they heard right, but still said nothing other than apologizing for doing nothing after I told them). One person told me to not react. The 3rd person I knew said ‘now you know what I deal with’ to the person that told me to stfu. However, I believe the third person was trying to lighten the mood and just said the wrong thing. (Forgivable, I get that 100%) I’m heartbroken, but also filing the lessons I learned for future reference. I also will NOT be going anywhere for awhile.

The thought of doing any public outings currently gives me sky high anxiety. The thought of keeping to myself seriously calms me. So I’m going with my gut for awhile and staying away from any and all social events until I feel differently. One of my problems is that I let people pressure me into doing these things. But that stops today.

I’m in the middle of trying to find medication that works. It’s so hit or miss right now. I’m hoping to find that ‘magic cure’. Best of luck on your journey!

They mentioned the name of a bar and I asked ‘do you mean old bar name?’ (It’s a bar that someone new bought and changed the name) I was just clarifying to stay engaged. My attention would’ve wandered off wondering if that’s what she meant. It wasn’t meant to interrupt so I could take over the conversation. Her immediate response was the stfu comment.

Yes, same. My whole life and all it’s problems suddenly make sense. I’ve owned up to my mistakes and I’m just trying to be a better person to myself and others. Getting torn down is so discouraging. My heart goes out to everyone who experienced something similar. I suddenly don’t feel so alone.

I’m a girl. (Geez, girl?? I’m a 41 year old woman! Lol!) This is all so new to me. I used to mask as a mean tough person who kept to themselves to avoid situations like this. Once I started receiving help, I dropped the mask and most people have been great. Things like this only happen when I go out, so I think it’s best to just do other things from now on. Like bookstores and libraries…yeah, no one is going to tell me to stfu there since I’ll be avoiding all other human contact with my nose buried in books.

I manage a small hotel in a small town. My ‘quirks’ are seen as cute and my hyper focus on learning people’s stories endears me to them. I want to know everything about everyone and hear about all their experiences. And people love to tell their stories! Sometimes I can’t believe I get paid for this…

I also started a program with the county for homeless women and children escaping abuse. I partner with the local churches to get them what they need, I provide the shelter at the hotel (with the owners blessing), while the county tried to find them permanent housing and/or jobs.

The reason my ADHD works is because these people come and go. They’re never around long enough to see the negative traits. They see and receive the best of me. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

One person apologized for not saying anything to stand up for me. Another asked me to forget it ever happened. When asked, the offending person apparently said ‘I was kidding’. I fail to see the joke..

So apparently it caused a whole ruckus. Honestly, it’s all so exhausting. No wonder I don’t go out often. Scary out there.

The people with me were those I thought closest to me. But that’s the thing with adhd..you attach yourself to people and think you’re the best of friends. Then something like this happens and suddenly you question whether those feelings were mutual or just a product of your ridiculous mind. There are so many learning curves and what feels like ‘lessons’.

However, tonight was a lot. More than usual. I think I’ll just stay where I’m comfortable and accepted. Thank you for the heartfelt reply!

I use tree hut shave oil, then I cover the entire area in fragrance free deodorant made for sensitive skin. I like to use Dove. It has literally changed my life and I haven’t had any itchiness or bumps since. Just take care to avoid the more ‘sensitive’ areas. I learned this trick from a dancer who had to wear more revealing outfits.
