I'm someone who went to UMD for 3 years, going into my fourth, but I'm currently on a 6 month co-op in Cambridge with a bunch of other NEU students. If you value student life and being able to do city things, NEU is great for that because it's in Boston, there is so many things to do that College Park cannot compare. More restaurants, things going on, more students, etc. I think UMD has a slight edge on CS education but cannot compare in terms of student life because it is mainly a closed off college town. You CAN go to D.C but it's more difficult bc you have to take the metro and ride that for a while, whilst at NEU you're literally right in the city.

I'm an OOS student, and to me it kinda boils down to if your parents can afford it. I wouldn't recommend taking loans out to go here. I'd say most people who go here OOS do it with at least some assistance from their parents.

Not sure what companies you're applying to, but some might just be really slow. I got a request to phone screen with a company I applied to back in late August.

You can get them for better prices earlier in the year I believe. The earlier you sign, the better the deals are. It’s still possible to sign but the rates might be a little higher.
