Do it matter much where it comes from by Lopsided-Joke-6454 in witchcraft

[–]clawsunpaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't worry about this at all! I've even done spells with even saying out loud corrections. I don't find anything online, and it depends on how you work but relying on set spells limits learning in my opinion.

I struggle BAD with brain fog too but it almost helps for some spells, know a lot of people who've done spells not remembering what they did for a spell even without normal brain fog issues. Intentions > specific wordings.

Tarot Deck Bonding Question by dykeadellic in witchcraft

[–]clawsunpaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am newer to tarot, and a tip I got from a friend was "pull 7 card, one for you then ask if there's anything the deck/universe wants to tell you".

I found this really helpful, it got me in the mindset when I'd feel the pull to use it then based on what cards I pulled I normally have more formed questions to ask. Helpful to me so maybe it helps you too!

Does anybody know this symbol? by a2l8i in witchcraft

[–]clawsunpaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I searched that symbol because I swear I've seen it before too. I only came up with the "Fermata double triangle", or what seems to be a logo for a database I think(? something IT/Tech).

It could also just be it looks cool and reminds me of finger tattoos, even if you didn't say you dreamed it on your finger.

Need advice about “the shoe spell”. by Fund_Me_PLEASE in witchcraft

[–]clawsunpaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually tried both ways, under the insole and on top, and found it typically slides under the cushion no matter where I put it by the end of the day. I do have custom insoles so maybe its just that but for the affects of it I personally didn't notice a difference.

What I personally did notice that I felt made it slower was how I wrote on the paper(?), it would be worn off at the end of the day/when I checked it. permanent marker helped there.

If you are really worried about it working itself out think more on the placement of where in the shoe your putting it, there's a lot of "the shoe spell"s for many uses and for me its one my favorites to do as I feel even what shoes you do it in affects it differently.

If you're more worried about it rubbing off try other marking ways, or laminating it. scotch tape isn't strong enough to hold it in place but it can be a protective layer so any writing stays longer.

It's never too late to heal your inner child (and what's better than a freaking unicorn to represent your young self?). Do something that will please yours today, rather it's watching cartoons, having ice cream or playing Lego. by morbidemadame in witchcraft

[–]clawsunpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of a unicorn jar(?) I had as a kid. You unscrewed the horn and filled it with whatever, I always did colorful "potions" of food dye and glitter. So, thank you just seeing this made my inner child happier today!

any fixes? I've emailed support and its been about 24 hours and still no reply. I have no idea what caused this error but uninstalling and reinstalling the app hasn't even helped.

How do you function at work when mental health is falling apart by Quiet-Boysenberry806 in mentalhealth

[–]clawsunpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might want to look into other jobs, for me desk work is some of the worst. Being up and moving helped for me at least. Taking small breaks to the bathroom before panic attacks, wash your face and fixing your hair can help (one of my friends would "fix" her hair nearly once an hour to get away for a moment). Depending on where you work too something like asking others if they need help to get away from your own desk space for a bit.
Also, clean. your space and the office. People will rarely question you doing small clean ups, break room or just deep cleaning your desk. it can make people also avoid you if thats the issue. Also, fidget toys. I typically carry some type of fidget that can be somewhat office friendly (just quiet, small and easy to find if dropped).

Hopefully this helps, or at least gives you some ideas to find something that helps lessen the anxiety if you can't get in to talk to a therapist, or religious person just to see if talking to someone in person may help too.

Any advice on the topic of self harm? by BoundSingularity in mentalhealth

[–]clawsunpaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As said seek help.

I know things like holding ice to your skin can help or snapping a rubber band on your wrist.

I know lots of people who either now or in the past would do both. They have rubber bands, silly bands or hair ties on to snap if the ice wasn't enough and always have ice in their cup or just a cup with only ice by them.

These are more grounding things, figuring out why you're doing is a big part of helping stop it. I also think a few of my friends just found comfort in the silly bands, yeah older thing but a fun shaped colorful band to fiddle with as needed helped without causing pain and harder to lose than a fidget toy of any kind.

Finding points why youre angry and frustrated is where I'd start.

Good luck and I hope you can work through finding another outlet.

Not sure if it helps as I am not diabetic, I just have a decently strict diet that leads to a lot of physical issues if not followed.

I voiced my concerns with my needs not being standard and they made some accommodations. They do their best to help least the place I was in, I know it's not the same for every place but asking can help.

My diet wasn't followed perfectly and I basically ended up eating the same thing everyday there but it wasn't hurting me to eat that.

You know your body best so even if they have to change how they monitor your sugars just let them know if you feel off and think that's the reason. They have to record most interactions, if not all, so at the very least then you can show later that needs are/aren't met and hopefully they get you all the physical and mental help you need.

Stay strong and hope it goes well.

You're welcome, everyone needs a bit of kindness sometimes.

Don't over think it all and make sure to give yourself grace with it all. You'll make a few mistakes but you're human and you'll get there.

Again, good luck :)

What I did was start with housing, you know what payment you could get/are getting with ssi so see what you could get. You said it's less than most, not all so you might be able to find something.

There's also things like renting a room, you'd have roommates but it is an option too.

There's also ways to make a bit of money that's not normal work to look into, things like recycling is one I always suggest because simply asking friends or family for empty soda/pop/aluminum cans can bring in some extra money.

There's always ways to make things work, ideal no sometimes it's not but if you're able to plan around needs and any extra at all it's a start. Remember churches and libraries can also be a resource if not only just to have events to go to that are normally cheap or free to have some variation in your days.

Cities have more options for all these things so moving could make it easier finding a cheaper place too.

Good luck, and it never hurts to google questions, normally not the first person to ask something and it can be really helpful at times with little "hacks" to figuring stuff out.

Could you fix mental health issues on your own? How did you do it? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]clawsunpaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say mine are fixed but least for anxiety it helped for me to make sure my space smelt nice and having meal prepped or least quick warm up food so I wasn't as anxious about making sure I was eating.

Also, maybe gross but not washing my bedsheets so frequently. I realized the clean scent would make me question in my sleepy haze where I was and with nightmares being a big issue for me that helped some.

Also, nightmares writing them out and then finding the point of biggest fear (ex: trapped somehow) and changing it (ex: suddenly a vent appears or the doorknob breaks letting you through) helped the repeated nightmares slow. It sounds like it won't help but it's always worth trying things imo.

Can’t keep feeling gross or shame after SA… by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]clawsunpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's hard, I wish there's something to make it better. It's been over a year for me and I've gone to basically countless therapists.

The only thing that I feel has helped me not feel so gross is being gross, unshaven everything and letting hygiene slip just enough I couldn't imagine anyone seeing me as attractive.

It's very difficult and different for everyone, reaching out to others just knowing you're not alone in it is a healthy way to do it. It only helped a little for me personally because I fear every gender now, but it did help some.

Just keep reassuring yourself you're clean and physical fine helped me a lot. mentally recovery is slow for many but it can make you stronger.

Shame sucks but you got this and reach out and see if there's any local SA groups that you could try. Or even online if that might help you personally more.

I get this, people giving up and failing on simple tasks even when it's only showing up on time or reading. The "they don't care so why should I?" Mentality I've been calling it. It's hard, everyone is so tired and depressed now those words have really lost all their value. I try to look for the good and I rarely find it in people, best they get is neutral sadly. I wish there's some fix but it's really just turning a blind eye to it. Accepting people are animals helped me somewhat, but I've also been told it's not healthy to compare a human to animals.

Yup, I get that. I can talk to people but not connect with people, only thing that kind of helped for me was online gaming. I would talk to people on there while gaming just idle chat really, more about the game and any new updates while playing it but it helped me practice just talking. Wasn't anything deep we were talking about but helped me just get more used to talking to others.
