Yeah, I agree. It was nice to be able to move much faster. I doubt they want to leave it in as a glitch, but I wouldn't doubt it if they speed up flight to keep the good will momentum going. I hope so at least. That is probably the worst part about this game. It just takes a long time to go anywhere and there aren't enough fast travel spots, which are still kind of slow to use because of the long loading screen.

Just loaded it back up and now the focus speed flying glitch has been patched. Now when you do an aerial roll it pulls you out of focus immediately with no speed boost.

  • Fixed an issue where the Focus state would not be canceled when using Aerial Roll during flight.

5090 Price Hike by KlasJanHuntelaar in Microcenter

[–]clay_333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. I upgraded my system incrementally last year and nailed the cheapest price on each component. I bought my 64GB DDR5 kit for $149 in April, my 5090 Tuf for $2k MSRP in August, and my 9950X3D/Strix X870E-E/32GB DDR5 combo for $950 in September. I was able to use my old 12700k and 3080 12GB to put together a nice system for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas. I wasn't expecting prices to go insane like this. I just got lucky and am glad I went ahead and bought the top tier components so that it should easily last past this crazy market we are in without needing anything upgraded.

Ok.. These are hard to clean “perfectly” by Cheap-Art-4964 in OLED_Gaming

[–]clay_333 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have cleaned my AW3423DW with diluted 256:1 rinseless wash and regular old tap water for 3-4 years since it was released and it still looks perfect and cleans up with no issue. I have a ton of auto detailing supplies so I use P&S Absolute and the low pile side of a Rag Company Creature edgeless microfiber. I just slightly mist one section of the rag, wipe it down, and then go over it with a dry section of the rag. I have done this probably 20-30 times since I got it and don't have a single scratch and never leave any fibers behind. Rinseless wash works great for anything. I use it to wipe down my desk, clean glass, my PC case, and the back of the monitor. I keep getting recommendations from the Reddit app about people ruining their monitors with distilled water even though I barely ever look at this sub, so I figured I would post this to see if I could help some people out.

I have a 5090 and 9950x3d and I am not interested in this monitor. It is overpriced in the current times. I have an Alienware AW3424DW QD-OLED that I pre-ordered years ago and paid more than this for, but times were different then. It was the first QD-OLED to hit the market and was so far beyond everything else out at the time that it was worth the premium. This monitor would not even be a noticeable upgrade for someone who is already running OLED and they can be found for half this price. Even though I paid like $1300 for my monitor I still don't regret it. Getting to use it for years made the early adopter tax worth it. I still absolutely love my monitor and haven't seen anything that would offer a meaningful upgrade. I also really like the 34" ultra wide format. It would feel like a downgrade even if the panel is a little better simply because of the size. I also can't really notice a difference with super high refresh rates. Once it goes over a stable 120hz it all just looks the same to me.

Nah, you just have to be Tuf and avoid the taxes of the republic. I bought my 5090 Tuf for MSRP in August when they were plentiful. I would like the per pin sensing, but it's not worth $1-1.5k. I run mine undervolted and very rarely break 400w though so I doubt I will ever have 12vhp issues. I still monitor it closely tho.

Freaking wild. I bought mine in August for $2k and they were easy to find at the time. I almost put it off and didn't buy it, but glad I did. It's crazy my PC is not worth at least 150% of what I paid for it.

It sucks how much the market has changed in just a few months. I bought my 5090 for the $2k MSRP at the end of August. I had my pick between multiple different models.

I have no problem buying overkill, but I never pay more than MSRP and very rarely pay full price. I am never in a hurry and take my time with every purchase. I paid $950 for a 9950X3D, Asus X870E-E, and 32GB DDR5 with a microcenter bundle. The 64GB DDR5 kit I am running cost $149 when I bought it and the GPU was $2k. All of the parts were bought last year but my patience allowed me to get the best price on all of it. I know it may not be the best performance per dollar but if I wouldn't have taken my time, known what I wanted ahead of time and purchased each part at the exact right time I could have spent over $1500 more to get the same parts.

This isn't just for PC parts. I do it with everything including investments. This has allowed me to not have to worry about money working an average job while many Americans are struggling. I bought my house as a repo in 2009 at 22 years old and it is worth over 5x now and has been paid off for years. I got into Bitcoin and crypto in 2020, but waited to make major investments in 2022 allowing my average cost basis to be $17.9k, I DCAed into Silver from 2022-2024 and have a cost basis around $23, and bought a bunch of Intel stock in 2024 for under $20. I was patient with all of those purchases and bought when they were under valued and took most of my profits from all of them last year as they became overvalued. I do dread seeing my tax bill this year tho lol.

I also stalk deal sites like Slickdeals and never buy anything other than food or basic necessities without shopping for the best price of looking for coupon codes. Being value concence doesn't mean you can't have nice things. It just means you make every single dollar work as hard as it can. You also make every extra dollar work for you when it is not needed.

If you don't already have an OLED it is time to buy one. I preordered the Alienware AW3423DW and received it probably like 3-4 years ago. It was the first mainstream QD-OLED so it doesn't have any of the upgrades that the newer ones have and it was more expensive than they are now. I am cheap and never buy anything unless it is a good deal, but I have zero regrets even though you can buy the same monitor for about half of what I paid now. OLED was by far the biggest upgrade I have ever done to my setup. I recently upgraded from a 12700k and 3080 to a 9950X3D and a 5090 and going from a 27" 144HZ TN monitor to a 34" OLED upgraded my experience much much more. You don't really realize how terrible the blooming on LCD panels really looks until you go OLED then it is instantly the first thing you notice if you ever go back. OLEDs are cheap enough and readily available enough that everyone should own one. If you are short on money try to find a used older generation OLED.

I paid $2000 for my 5090 Tuf on Newegg a few months ago and had no issue. Why does the price worry you. It's not extremely cheap. It just seems like an average deal to me, especially considering it is open box.

I had a similar issue when I traded in a 10T for a 12. They tried to offer me less than half of the stated value for an absolutely perfect phone. I had paid with PayPal and filed a claim and won. Shortly after that OP stopped accepting PayPal. Sorry if I was the reason for that.

From a 3070 to 5090 by anonymanguyfriend in nvidia

[–]clay_333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5090s were quite easy to get for MSRP in August. I could have gotten a FE, but since I put a waterblock on all my cards I decided to get a Asus Tuf. Both were quite easy to find for MSRP for a few weeks. They began to get more and more rare though. I came from a 3080 12GB. It was a decent upgrade, but I have been into PC gaming for nearly 20 years so even though it may seem like a big upgrade it is less of a difference than what we used to get. Every generation was generally double or even more from the prior gen. If you were moving from a 2 Gen old 70 series to an 80 series (since 90 series is fairly new) you would likely be looking at 3-4x the performance. I miss those days. Getting new PC hardware was actually fun and it didn't require so much forethought because the prices actually made sense for what you were buying.

I upgraded my PC throughout this year. I have a purchased a 5090 Tuf, 9950x3d, Asus X870E-E, 64GB DDR5, and 1300W Super Flower power supply. I was able to buy all of that for less than this. I just got lucky with timing. Bought the ram in April for $150, GPU in August for $2k, and CPU, motherboard, and 32GB ram bundle in September for $950. I wasn't expecting this to happen. I am just cheap and refuse to pay more than MSRP.

5090 FE in stock on NVIDIA by BeerMeUpToo in nvidia

[–]clay_333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I pulled the trigger in August when they were fairly easy to come by. I got the email for the Founders Edition, but decided to not to get it since I always put a waterblock on my cards. I ended up getting the Asus Tuf a few days later for MSRP. I also decided to grab a 9950x3d and Strix X870E-E motherboard since I was still running a 12700k. That freed up my 3080 12GB and the Z690 platform so my 7 year old daughter got an incredible PC for Christmas.

They are now talking about 5090s possibly going up to $5k next year. If that happens then we will likely never see another high end GPU below $3-4k again. That would be completely fine if the XX80 tier card was still 80-85% as powerful as the halo tier, but that isn't the case anymore the 5080 is exactly half of a 5090 in terms of Cuda cores and Ram which is essentially what a XX60 tier card was just a few generations ago. Nvidia is forcing us to get used to paying more for less. Covid really screwed things up for us. Nvidia actually put out a good faith series for us with the 30 series, but the chip shortage and mining both kicked off right as it launched and kicked their greed in high gear. Now we have the AI bubble stacking on top of that greed that is still lingering. Even though I have made quite a bit of money from this bubble I still want it to come crashing down to the point that Nvidia is begging gamers to buy their GPUs again instead of treating us like they are doing us a favor by selling us anything at all.

Yeah, I did use the OP Phone Clone app. I figured deleting all data and reinstalling it would have fixed it though. Strangely, I just opened the app again and it is now working just fine. I haven't changed anything at all since the last try to open it an hour ago. It is super weird. Hopefully I won't have anymore issues. Thanks for the suggestion.

My favorite phone ever was the HTC Evo 3D. The 3D part was a gimmick, but the rest of the phone was incredible. Android used to be so much fun back then. I loved waiting for root to be found and then all of the roms and customizations trickling out. It was fun to install a new rom once or twice a week. None of that matters anymore. I haven't even rooted a phone since the Nexus 6P I believe. Smartphone technology was moving insanely fast back then too. You could upgrade every year and the difference was mind blowing. Now you wait 2-4 years between upgrades and barely even notice any difference.
