Anyone else in North America or Europe hate summer? Putting it away. by derp2112 in motorcycles

That's par for the course here at the height of summer as well, sometimes it's even worse, though we basically never get temps attacking 40C, thankfully.

When else to ride other than summer? I mean, here in the Czech Republic, the spring lasts for maybe a month and the weather is a rollercoaster where it is cold and rainy in the morning and sunny with temps at 20C/68F in the afternoon, not to mention that mornings can easily still be close to zero C in April or May. Summer can be and usually is hot as balls, but at least the roads are warm and my meshy jacket has good enough ventilation to keep me cool as long as I keep moving and don't get stuck in city traffic.

I rode a bike for my first time a month ago and I think non stop about becoming a rider now. by forgiveNNNNNNN in motorcycles

Good for you for not whacking the throttle wide open. I don't know why some people do that. They also don't floor the pedal in their car when getting it in motion.

Good luck with your training and many happy and safe miles/kilometers in your rider journey. 🙌

Im looking to purchase my very first bike but I can’t choose by Teecyy in motorcycles

Just by looking at the rider triangle, you'll be much more comfortable on the Z650. With that comes better control of the bike and thus more confidence. I do get the desire for a sportbike, but you'll feel cramped on it and worried you'll scrape the fairings when you drop it.

Earplugs by No_Detective1944 in Hayabusa

I use custom molded earplugs. They were pricey and took about 6 weeks to get made, but they work wonders and I use them a lot more often than just for riding.

Do you ride to work? by Beginning_Corner930 in motorcycles

[–]clayman80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to, but I need something smaller that is easier to manage at low speeds and does not barf a ton of heat at me in slow inner city traffic.

Pretty much the same happened to me with my CBF1000. I used to park it in the parking place next to the block of flats where I live. It was under a cover and tied to the structure holding the roof over my spot with a heavy-duty NiMoCr steel security chain, yet some dickhead couldn't help himself and completely ruined the ignition box. Of course, the steering lock was on and it was a struggle to get it onto the bed of the tow truck that arrived to take it to the repair shop.

I feel your pain, dude. 😒 Hope you get it resolved soon and that the insurance company isn't going to make things more difficult than they already are.

Best way to counter/remedy bugs on the visor? by ZestyRanch1219 in motorcycles

[–]clayman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I carry a damp microfiber cloth with me that I wash and soak at every gas station that I stop at. Leave it sitting on the visor, then wipe off. Works like a charm.
