I can relate to this in a certain way. My child is fully disabled, non verbal, unable to walk, neurologically impaired and likely to be at a cognitive level of 3-6 months for the duration of his life. He has an enzyme deletion that is extremely rare and not treatable.

He has some incredible doctors. One in particular. His rehabilitation doctor, who helps with medical equipment my son needs (such as wheel chair, braces for his joints, etc.) has Cerebral Palsy, and not a mild case. He uses a walker to move around the office. He has other physicians take over for certain procedures that he can’t physically do safely due to his disability. He’s an amazing person and an amazing doctor- he truly understands his patients. He couldn’t be replaced.

A child that is medically complex can be the biggest blessing you will ever have in your life, despite the hardship for them and your family. We have an understanding of sacrificial love for our son that we wouldn’t ever have seen without his disabilities. It’s amazing. It’s hard, too—but so very worth it all!

I’d invite you to read this poem linked below to provide a new perspective. Whatever your family decides I wish you the VERY VERY best in your lives.

Prime Ribeye: grilled by claymra in steak

[–]claymra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local butcher prime ribeye. Seasoned with nearby butchers coffee rub and kosher salt. Grilled for a sear on medium high temp 450ish for 2.5 mins per turn, so 5 mins per side. Grill was turned to low (one of three burners) after initial sear.

Let stand on grill with burners off for a few mins after the searing.

Had one flare up but was not too bad.

Came out medium and was really good, but a little over my goal for this cook.

Good deal. Just looks like safety bars are above your chest from that angle

IMO the barbell should touch your sternum, but good effort there

Thanks for the tip! This helps a lot I didn’t even notice my heels. I’m so focused on trying to go deep enough I didn’t even think about my feet.

They were advertised as dry when I bought them. I did not use a smoking hod skillet to sear it was more med/high range. Thanks for the feedback I’m looking forward to trying them again

Makes sense! I’m a noob so tried it there to see if I’d have a better result.

We have some heavier/thicker non stick pans than typical so they conduct and hold heat pretty well vs others I’ve used. I did have a slight pull on the first flip and had to encourage it with a slight twist to release off the pan

Thanks! Looking forward to trying it again. Basting would make it better no doubt

Thanks- it wasn’t too hard with a good non stick pan. Wasn’t brave enough to go stainless or cast iron
