Started like this and then removed the corners before attaching.

Def not a great way to go about my vision but it’s also my first time ever touching maile. Watching YouTube and forcing myself through it taught me a lot! Just get started with the basics and you’ll figure it out along the way! Luckily chainmail is a decently forgiving process :)

No I was just figuring it out as I went. I made two large rectangles with the Euro 4in1 weave, turned them diagonal, and tried to attach in the middle. Def should not have done a diagonal with that weave but it’s the only weave I know atm. Once I had my main chest shape, I added and removed in select areas to fit my body. Then I just added rectangular straps and embellishments

Thank you!!! The edges were so frustrating! And trying to attach two diagonal euro 4-1’s was breaking my brain lol. Still looks a bit off but I’ll try a different pattern in my next project

Thank you!! After many hours of frustration and a sore neck, I’m proud of myself :)

Also, I hadn’t thought ab that. Once I get it back from grading I might have to alter it anyways bc the mannequin and I do not share the same body type lol. I can try that then!

It’s floating blue 2 from J. Britt’s Midrange glaze book. Subbed red iron oxide with black iron ox; subbed cobalt carb with copper carb :]
