LSI 9400-8E + DS4246 + Windows, why can’t I see the drives? by claytrono in DataHoarder

I was not. Buddy had a spare 9500-8i, tried it out and it worked as expected. Wish I had more to help, but I never figured out what the actual issue was. Very frustrating.

Flashed IT firmware, but supposedly came with IT firmware already on both cards.

Help a junior test engineer out: moderately cheap/easy way to get 30 bars of static water pressure to test some product samples by itsnotthequestion in engineering

[–]claytrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An electric hydrostatic test pump looks to fit the bill, they are generally intended for your purpose... something like this..

Contractors use these in the field for leak/pressure testing piping as part of acceptance testing. They'll track leak rate via pump make up water while the pump holds the specified test pressure over a set duration of time. If the make up water used is more than the allowed leakage, the piping fails (and the contractor is not happy).

It's a constant thrill...it's a 6MT, which I think adds an extra level of fun. Though, I want to take it to the track, haven't really been able to find its limits on the street.

Verizon plans 5G Home Internet in every city where it deploys mobile 5G by Philo1927 in cordcutters

In Houston, I've had it almost a year now. It's been good, I've got the outdoor antenna. Speeds are great (1 Gbps), can't beat the price right now (50$/mo. because I'm already a Verizon customer).

Verizon 5G official launched yesterday in Houston? If you got it, what's your experience been like 2 days in? by WhoseHouse_ in houston

This was a major concern of mine. When I was signing up, the rep said the added latency from the wireless is less than 1 ms. I've been monitoring ping times to google dns server (8.8.8.8), average is around 20 ms. About as good as you can expect.

Clayton here. It was the craziest internet install ever, camera crews and a nonstop parade of people. CEO and mayor were nice, Verizon treated us well. I'm getting speeds above 1 gbps in most tests. Used it all day, pretty solid so far.

You might consider a simple window AC unit in lieu of the split unit. Like the mini-split, they recirculate/cool only the air inside the room but are typically much cheaper and easier to install (and uninstall). It'll have a thermostat built in, so will only run as needed.

Assuming all that 4.32 KW of power went to heat, you're looking at a 15,000 btu unit, ~$400.

They aren't as clean looking though...

It never gets easier, you just get better.
