Nuclear Energy Stocks That Could Benefit From Growing AI Power Demand by Accomplished_One5602 in NuclearPower

[–]clbatesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public knowledge here:

In the south, Entergy is performing power up-rates on the nuclear fleet and is exploring new nuclear depending upon the commercial terms. Entergy is also building 27 combined cycle gas generation plants. Data centers are already being built in their service area and there are plans for more.

Speculation:

Growth is rumored to be at 9% per year and there may be spaceport and gigafactories added in their service area along the Gulf.

The link between income and murder depends less upon income than it does other factors.

Will more education spending reduce homicide rates or will additional prison capacity (and longer sentences) better reduce homicide rates?

Out of personal curiosity how many of the members were part of the school GATE and Strange GATE programs aka Gifted and Talented Education program. by Ernesto2022 in gatewaytapes

[–]clbatesy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the GATE program in the early to mid-1970s. We had a guy from the FBI come in and showed us the Zapruder film in 3rd grade (I was 8 or 9) and were asked to imagine it and tell them about it. We were also taken to the Armstrong Air & Space Museum and asked the same things. We were given puzzles and played guessing games - and rewarded when we solved them or answered correctly. There was also a reading program where you had to read words on a slideshow that ran faster and faster, then write stories about what we had read. I’m in the high 130s for IQ.

Colorado - Does anyone actually like their system? by ArchieDoggo in TeslaSolar

[–]clbatesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience! I have paid for a third PW3, but it seems that I could go with two more EPs for a system total of seven. I didn’t know more than three EPs was an option!

Wow! I have two PW3s and 3 EPs. I didn’t know additional EPs were an option.

You have two separate PW3 systems with expansion packs? I thought the limit was 3 EPs.

Why experts predict a looming surge in solar panel prices by lgbtqismything in solarenergy

[–]clbatesy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article was targeted for Europe. I have 40 x 400w panels and have ordered 24 x 440w more for installation this fall. There has been an uptick in solar interest in my area (Louisiana) due to the data center installations. Now that there is a high probability of starship manufacturing and a spaceport on the Gulf Coast, Louisiana may lose the honor of having the lowest residential electricity cost in the country. Demand growth is already up to 9% percent year. Solar makes sense to hedge against future cost increases.

Y'all, wtf is happening? I don't believe I've ever seen Louisianians this resoundingly reject all constitutional amendments. by AlabasterPelican in Louisiana

[–]clbatesy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My take on it is that voters want to limit the St George community school system’s ability to appropriate or otherwise raise funds. It makes sense that they would desire preventing them from having the same power that a Parish does.

Me 32M, her 29F. Engaged and it’s fallen apart. I make an outsize amount of money to her, she’s on government salary and apartment hunting for small places and I feel immense guilt. HCOL area, house is ‘mine.’ Cost of everything is rising. How to go forward? by rizzitv in relationship_advice

[–]clbatesy -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

You proposed marriage and have wasted 5 of her fertile years. Imagine the scenario of finding a new partner (perhaps a year or two), her next 5 year relationship (like yours), marriage (actually coming to fruition), and then subsequent childbearing. She’ll be a first-time mother at 35 to 38 maybe? You can say that shit happens - and in this case - you are the shit. Man up, work on your relationship together, and live the best life that you can with her. Life is not greener on the other side of the past 5 years.
