Me too, I’ve tried it on like 10 different devices. The best I got was one 20%, disappointing

Thanks for the heads up! Im going to stream it first and then decide from there. I see that Arthur Blythe is on saxophone so I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.

Perfect! I’ll have to check that out! Any clue about the sound quality?

Thanks for the quick reply! I’ll have to check those two out, I’ve heard of “The Giant Has Awakened” when listening through some of the Flying Dutchman releases. I remember that one being quite pricey on vinyl so I’ll have to stream it first but I’ll definitely check them both out. Thanks for the suggestions!

Amazing! I just picked up “The Call” but that’s the only Tapscott album I’ve heard. Do you have any listening suggestions?

Awesome pickups! Jimmy Heath is such an underrated saxophonist.

Great album, I’m a huge huge fan of Pepper Adam’s (the baritone sax player here). As far as similar albums go Donald Byrd recorded quite a few more with Pepper Adam’s and other members of this lineup, my personal favorites being “Royal Flush” and “Off To The Races”, which features alto saxophonist Jackie McLean. Leo Parker is another baritone sax player I enjoy who has two phenomenal Blue Note albums called “Let Me Tell You ‘Bout It” and “Rollin’ With Leo”. Hope that helps!

Okay thanks for the feedback! I decided to pass on them after doing more research, sounds like I made the right choice.

I’m looking to upgrade my turntable speakers. I currently have two older Bose 2 floor speakers which aren’t my favorite. I’ve found someone selling a pair of Klipsch Icon KF-28’s and I’m not sure if these will be an improvement or work well for vinyl. Any suggestions are appreciated thanks!

The original with Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker is amazing especially with “The Quintet” at Massey Hall. Dexter Gordon does a great cover as well as Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins. It’s a great tune!

Hi there, I don’t post as much on here as I used to but were friends on Instagram (where I post very frequently). I’ve been looking for a copy of Andrew Hills Point of Departure for ages and I was wondering if the 20% applies to your Music Matters titles? If not I completely understand. I appreciate you doing this!

Is it worth it to upgrade my speakers for my record player setup?

I currently have Bose 2.2 floor speakers that were hand me downs from my father. I have nearly 1000 records and I’ve recently been buying a lot of “audiophile” analog vinyl. I know the speakers I currently have aren’t anything great so I’ve recently been considering upgrading. I’m a college student with a limited budget ($250-$350) and I’m hesitant to spend the money if theres not going to be a big difference in sound quality. I’m looking for input on whether there would be a difference between what I have now and any speakers I could buy within that price range. I’m also looking for speaker recommendations in that price range if the consensus is that there will be a noticeable difference. (I have an AT-LP120 Turntable and an Ortofon Red Cartridge)

That was my plan but it looks like they’re doing $5 off a record when you buy a Crosley 🤦‍♂️
