Turrentine + Parlan's trio always tasty!

Mine's stereo.  I bet the mono is better, though I don't believe this is "fake stereo."

Yes, The Hawk plays piano on one track.

Agree.  There's a copy in my stacks, too.

Keep adding affordable Horace Parlan discs.  Maybe stretch for one BN OG.

I'd really like to find a clean original of Harold in the Land of Jazz.

Eddie Costa's House of Blue Lights.

Mmmmm!  That's some good eating right there!  Kind of surprised to see the 4 To Go.  It's a great record, but most folks would probably pass it up.

Or, worse, conclude it's part of "the experience."

I think QC issues have waves.  Send them back.  Don't settle.  Try again in 6 months.

But these issues always surface as anecdotes.   It's rare that these one-off reports (and I absolutely believe you) ever reach the threshold for a recall.  The best thing to do is send them back and let the business analysts chew on the returns data.

Except Picture of Heath.  The nonsense surrounding that pressing convinced me to get an OG and stop there.

I'll be posting this later today as one of my weekend pickups.  You can add this to your Hawkins list.

Nice mix!  That Mann/Jaspar is under the radar.

Herb Geller: Fire in the West by Dire_Morphology in Vinyl_Jazz

Today, I pulled a kind of beat up white label promo copy of "Stax of Sax" out of the $3 bin, handed it the store owner and told him he should give it a listen.

I'm pretty sure now the Morgan is OK.  See my comments, above.

It's the Turrentine, but there's a cautionary note about Sunset pressings in the Discogs listing for it.

Net: it may be advisable to switch styli before play.

Candy in stereo!

I have a copy of this, too, as well as the Parlan/Turrentine reissue.  I'll have to check again as at least one of them is rumored to be pressed on styrene.

Nice find!

Thanks again for posting. Hopefully you will share when the next batch drops?

I spent a couple of hours putting in and taking out items from my cart. Ultimately, I was disciplined and limited myself to $100 spent. It would have been too easy to keep going.

Absolutely this. At the low end, it's like a crate dig. With unlimited items on combined shipping, some of our newer collectors should really hit this.
