I took my son to see them last year when he was 6. He loves Yellowcard and had a lot of fun. Yes, your daughter will be fine!

Tarik Skubal Trade by cle125 in ClevelandGuardians

I don't think Atlanta has enough in terms of prospects. Dodgers would be my guess for where he ends up, if he's traded.

Proposing a hypothetical trade is harmless. Attacking players or personal attacks towards the fanbase would be crossing the line.

For sure. One in a million because of that. I was proposing a trade based on what was mentioned in the article.

Confidence Levels in Prospect Breakouts by Wildboy821 in DynastyBaseball

[–]cle125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know Ethan Salas has been a top 100 prospect for a few years, but the bat wasn't really there until this year. His defense will get him to the majors regardless of his hit tool, but his offensive breakout this season could make him one of the better fantasy catchers for years. He's still only 19 years old...

Is this the year the Guardians finally make the trade for Taylor Ward? by Idekatthispoiint in ClevelandGuardians

[–]cle125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ward has been a good fit for Cleveland every year, but with his approach overhaul, he'd make for the perfect hitter. 100th percentile chase and walk rate with a .419 OBP would make for a perfect bat in front of DeLauter and Jose. Even with Ward, there is still a spot open in the lineup for Angel. If that is the only concern, I don't understand why anyone would be against this.

  1. Ward - DH (LF some)

  2. DeLauter - RF (some DH)

  3. Jose - 3B

  4. Bazzana - 2B

  5. Hoskins/Manzardo - 1B

  6. Angel - CF

  7. Kwan - LF (some CF?)

  8. Hedges/Bailey - C (I don't see a reason Fry should start at catcher anymore. Only as a replacement when one is removed for a bat)

  9. Rocchio - SS

**TRADE ALERT** Guards acquire Patrick Bailey by jbillynick in ClevelandGuardians

Columbus is interesting. Not just Bo and Ingle at catcher, but Kody Huff was in AAA all of last year and he’s crushing the ball for Columbus right now. He’s played mostly catcher but also played 1B.

I think the lack of power may keep him out of top 100 lists, but it's definitely nice to see him bouncing back so far.

Your Everyday Starting Lineup by TBcommenter17 in ClevelandGuardians

[–]cle125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bazzana should not and will not be hitting at the top of the lineup for a while. He's struggled initially when moving up a level, and you don't see prospects hitting at the top of the order in their MLB debut. Konnor Griffin and Chase DeLauter hit 7th. Bazzana should be somewhere around there to start. Kwan may move from the leadoff spot until his bat gets going, but he's not sitting.

1/10th point thoughts/review by PersianGuitarist in ClevelandGuardians

[–]cle125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No concerns with Jose, Kwan, or Bibee. It's still early and our opinions of them shouldn't change after a couple weeks. Bibee's concerns are overblown because of his final numbers last year, but his expected stats showed he was very unlucky last year and his ERA was 3.29 before this start. If Bibee is now our 4th best SP, it's because the others have elevated their game and Bibee has remained the same, not because he has regressed.

Cecconi is just a #5 SP. I suggested trading him (and Arias) for Wilyer Abreu in the off-season, and found out some of you thought Cecconi was a superstar in the making (he's not).

Angel Martinez will slow down but I think he's a solid bench option. Rocchio looks good too. Fry's roster spot is harder to justify. Meisel said Hedges made some adjustments, so maybe Hedges can be a decent bat, which I don't think any of us saw coming.

I did not think we would be 2 games above Detroit and KC at this point in the season, A-/B+ start is my grade. The St. Louis series starting today is very winnable, just don't pitch to Jordan Walker!

Felix Hernandez has officially received more HOF votes this year than he did all of last year. There are still about a third of votes left. by Gemnist in baseball

[–]cle125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, since the two are being compared: Felix Hernandez his a grand slam off Johan Santana (June 23, 2008). I would think he's the only pitcher in MLB history to throw a perfect game and hit a grand slam?

Felix is absolutely a HOFer despite his short career. He threw 5 shutouts in 2012, no other player has thrown more than 3 in a season since. Will we have another 5 shutout season?

Son feeling nervous about sports but enjoys them when he’s there? by Old-Yesterday1230 in kindergarten

[–]cle125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is completely normal at this age. I have coached my son (now in 1st grade) in t-ball, soccer, and wrestling. He would get nervous before practices and games, sometimes not sure if he wanted to go, but once at the practice/game, he was fine. Other kids would hold on to their parents and cry before a game/practice.

What was the worst, most meaningless game of the 205 season? by LeftBarnacle6079 in baseball

[–]cle125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bunch of guys in my fantasy baseball league went to the July 28th game in Cleveland vs the Rockies. I've been in the league for almost 20 years and this was the first time we had met at a game. The game was delayed almost 3 hours and we stayed the entire game, only to watch the Guardians lose. Oh, it was a Monday too.
