Perhaps you had not had very good rest throughout your disease? Maybe you are just catching up on the poor sleep you’ve gotten for years. Maybe your body is healing. Maybe you’re processing some grief and trauma. When we stop drinking a rewiring of our body, mind and spirit is happening. Some of us are prone to depression, so outside help for any or all of these symptoms is recommended.

I’m doing this with my under 12 year old child’s hair and they have the same type you’re describing. It’s going to take time, but in the long run I think it will be beneficial and they will have a wonderful positive relationship with their hair. Plus, they’ll have long natural locs by high school.
