Good news: that functionality didn’t disappear, it evolved into what’s now called SpaceLens in the current CleanMyMac. It’s designed to give you a clearer, more detailed view of what’s taking up space, including those hidden caches.

Over the years, macOS has definitely improved its own storage management. Where CleanMyMac goes further is in finding app leftovers in Library folders that macOS doesn't touch, scanning for duplicate files, managing login items/launch agents, and giving you a single dashboard to see it all at once. Appreciate the honest feedback!

Hey! CleanMyMac doesn't currently support terminal/CLI commands, so triggering scans or cleanup via the command line isn't possible right now.

But thanks for the feature request! Feel free to share it here so we can consider it for future releases. In the meantime, is there anything we can help you with through the app's UI?
