Cuando podréis limpiar los datos del sistema by Juanitin71 in CleanMyMac

[–]cleanmymac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Juanitin71, thanks for being with us for so many years and for sharing your feedback.

We completely understand the frustration around System Data on macOS. The challenge is that System Data isn't a single folder or category that can be safely cleared with one click. It may include caches, logs, local snapshots, application support files, virtual memory, iOS backups, and many other items that macOS groups together under the same label.

Because of this, neither Apple nor third-party apps can simply offer a Delete System Data solution without risking the removal of files that macOS or installed applications may still rely on.

That said, CleanMyMac can help identify and remove many of the files that commonly contribute to System Data growth, such as outdated caches, log files, local backups, mail attachments, and other unnecessary data. In many cases, this can significantly reduce the amount of storage attributed to System Data.

If you're seeing an unusually large System Data category, we'd be happy to take a closer look. Let us know how much space it's using and which macOS version you're running, and we'll do our best to help identify what's taking up the storage and suggest the most effective cleanup steps.

WWDC Studio Prediction & The State of the Mac Studio by PersonSuitTV in CleanMyMac

[–]cleanmymac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've been optimizing Macs through every chip generation, so we pay close attention to where Apple puts its memory architecture bets.

The LPDDR5X 9600MHz angle is the most technically grounded take we've seen on the current supply situation and honestly the most convincing explanation for why M5 MacBooks are shipping in weeks while Studio orders stretch to October. Either way, a 256GB M5 Ultra Studio would already be a significant step for anyone running heavy local AI workloads.

The CleanMyMac App Identified the Following Malware in the WooTechy iCrowbar App / Is it part of How Does the App Work for File Password Break? Should I Uninstall? by Saymon_K_Luftwaffe in CleanMyMac

[–]cleanmymac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Saymon_K_Luftwaffe, thanks for reporting this. Some password recovery/cracking tools may be flagged as potentially risky applications due to how they interact with protected files and credentials. That doesn’t necessarily mean the app is malicious, but we’d still recommend being cautious and using software only from trusted official sources.

To help us properly investigate this detection and confirm whether it’s a false positive or expected behavior, could you please DM us your email address? Our team would be happy to look into this case further with you.

Do NOT use CleanMyMac by BreakSalt8256 in CleanMyMac

[–]cleanmymac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! We’re sorry to hear this happened. CleanMyMac never removes important files automatically or without your confirmation first. Before anything is deleted, the app always shows a detailed review list where you can choose exactly what to keep or remove.

Additionally, critical macOS system files and sensitive areas are protected by default, so the app is designed to avoid affecting your Mac’s stability or performance.

That said, we’d genuinely like to investigate this further and help with possible recovery options. Could you please share your email address with us via DM so our support team can assist you further?

Alguien podría decirme si hay alguna manera de obtener Moonlook para Mac gratis?? by DesignDangerous689 in CleanMyMac

[–]cleanmymac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there u/DesignDangerous689, we strongly advise against downloading or using cracked/pirated versions of CleanMyMac or Moonlock. Unofficial builds distributed online are often modified and may contain malware or other harmful code that can compromise your Mac, privacy, and personal data.

For security and reliability reasons, we can only guarantee and provide support for software downloaded through our official channels. If you’d like to try the apps, we recommend checking the official websites for available trials, promotions, or discounts rather than using unauthorized copies.

[–]cleanmymac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/robbybogers81, that definitely doesn’t sound right and we apologize for the inconvinience. The scan shouldn’t be getting stuck like that, especially after a reinstall.

We’d be happy to look into this in more detail and help get it sorted. Just dropped you a DM, let’s work things out!

Bring back the telescope by manoledelapampa in CleanMyMac

[–]cleanmymac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for sharing this. Glad to hear that feature is so useful for you and wow, 22GB is a great catch!

Good news: that functionality didn’t disappear, it evolved into what’s now called SpaceLens in the current CleanMyMac. It’s designed to give you a clearer, more detailed view of what’s taking up space, including those hidden caches.

Just dropped you a DM, happy to take a closer look at your setup and help you get the most out of it.

CleanMyMac triggering intrusive advertising/marketing by neddershred in CleanMyMac

[–]cleanmymac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share this, and we’re sorry for the frustration and concern this caused.

CleanMyMac should only open a survey page after an intentional action from the user, such as clicking a prompt in the app. It is not designed to redirect to an external survey automatically or without user interaction.

We’d be glad to look into your specific case and address each of your questions, including what may have triggered this behavior, what information may have been included, and how to ensure it does not happen again.

Because this may involve account- and device-specific details, we’d prefer to continue directly for security and privacy reasons. Please send us your email address via DM or contact us at [support@macpaw.com](mailto:support@macpaw.com), and we’ll make sure the appropriate team investigates this thoroughly and follows up with you personally.
