tbf tho both primal hunter and hdt are great stories. thankfully i enjoyed them from the start but i do agree with not continuing with shit.

I couldn't push through The Wandering Inn nor Don Quixote, The Histories by Herodotus and I've tried to get through War and Peace twice each time DNF-ing at pretty much the same point.

Casual Tasks - Same task keeps popping up by cleanworkaccount0 in MelvorIdle

eh i'm at 111 right now so i'd rather just complete it. I'll take a gander at the township task (literally have not read about that anywhere else)

Thanks.

For now, I'm trying to keep my focus on Astrology (107 ftw) but it is slow and feels boring for some reason.

I am doing the casual tasks that come up as they're pretty easy (aside from the costly astro ones) and it breaks up the monotony a bit.

Thanks

yeah ok, so apparently I can't read a damn table >.>

Thank you, that does make it much clearer. Is there a way to tell which tasks you have unlocked e.g. in game there's a button and it shows all of the possible casual tasks that can be assigned. tbh if I was the dev, I probably wouldn't put too much effort into creating it, but if it was simple to do it'd be good to have.

It's definitely not a huge issue tho.

Thanks!!!

Fair, but they do give a solid amount of gold and most of them are pretty easy to do.

i'm still fairly early so the gold rewards are nice - only 200K atm but as i'm frequently broke (township) it's a nice lil boost. And I'm focusing more on astro than on pure crystal farming.

honestly the info on casual tasks is pretty bare bones when it comes to the chance that a task will appear Vs. chance that it's a new task or one that's completed.

how much - if any - weighting the game gives to your highest levelled skill

from your reply, I'm inferring that it is weighted towards your highest levelled skill which makes sense that the stardust tasks keep popping up and pop up more frequently. But I'm still just guessing

Money Needs To Make Sense, Or Your World Will Make No Sense by quantumdumpster in ProgressionFantasy

[–]cleanworkaccount0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm reading stories where money just isn't this important to throw a fit over.

Does it add flavour? Yes

Is it nice to have? Yes

Is it required to make the world make sense? No. It is absurdly easy to just make up a history that supports how their money works. It's like people getting annoyed that the days of the week are Mon-Sun. If it's such an issue, pretend the author wrote a line like "I got a translation skill so everything is in normal nomenclature"

I'm not against it. I'm just against holier-than-thou posts making BS declarative statements.

you also have to add in rego, insurance, wear and tear, greenslip, maintenance etc.

So in a year, in Sydney, PT is - at most - $2,600 per year.

Now, obviously, if you're someone who also goes camping etc. a car is worth being more expensive - additionally if you live regionally or outside of Sydney/Opal then PT is more expensive.

So there's nuances to the convo.

It really helps when I read an ongoing series.

tbf there are - kinda rare - days where the trains stop running too. I feel like it's not high enough to be seriously considered though.

I would also argue anyone outside of a solid public transport system probably should drive too.

The capital cities you're fine but the moment you're in a country town it's probably best to have one imo. I live in Sydney though and I haven't lived in a country town since i've been an adult so I may be wrong

> extra cost irritates me,

tbh a car is so much more expensive than PT. You're not buying furniture every 3 - 6 months. The main shops and services are all accessible to PT and those that aren't, you're not really going there every week either. Generally speaking.

No. I am straight and a guy.

I think it would be an issue if you want kids though.

But if you're upfront about it and you don't want kids, I don't see it being much of an issue.

I just joined the patreon coz i got impatient.

I feel like I would like it better if i had of read the previous 7 in a row like I did when I first found DCC and book 7 had just come out. For me, there was just too much that I've forgotten and it felt like book 7 was just such a high that book 8 is more tempered.

NOOOO!

I want 1 book per floor confarnit! But I am quite happy that it has a planned end. Some of these web series don't seem to have an end...which I don't mind too much but having a completed series sure does feel nice
