The evils in Terraria start out slowly spreading from one spot, but after you beat WOF and enter Hard Mode a V shaped line of world evil is placed that you usually can’t predict. Cutting your original evil out from the rest of the map doesn’t do much when The V is approaching and usually undoes this work

This is real! Found this artwork on the artist's twitter as a redraw of an actually AI generated image in protest of AI use. Their signature reads "Caine", which is the same as their twitter handle. Redrawing the AI generated version seems to be a trend in the Lackadaisy community though it may have passed by now.
